Futbol Soccer...?

And? there is no equivalent position in soccer or most other sports. You know, many people would look at a lot of those linemen, who in many cases are fat, and be like "pshhh what a joke sport it must be that guys like that can play it"

The fastest guys in the fast positions? sure. EVERY WR or CB faster than EVERY soccer player? no.

No it isnt, its a normal size for WRs, RBs, CBs, safetys and kickers.

185 pounds is not the normal size for WR/RB/CB at all, how can you even say that.

Who you talking about?

So you just can't accept the FACT NFLer are bigger and faster.......whoa~~~~~~

Dude, real life....

Average Weight of an NFL Running Back

The average weight of an NFL Running Back is 213.17 pounds.

Only about 30 pounds off.

Anyway, why the fuck is the argument hinging on this?

Soccer is clearly much harder to succeed in. You get guys starting American football as adults and making the NFL, guys transitioning from other sports etc. The whole talent pool basically comes from around 80k college kids and really its more like just the 20k who play Div 1.

How is soccer harder to succeed in, who can't be a little guy and kick a ball around? You don't even use your hands.

Not buying that at all, hell look at how many can play the game.

An NFL QB far FAR harder to succeed at. An NFL Cornerback far harder to succeed at.

You don't have to be big or especially fast or strong, dude........kicking a ball around. Get real~~~~~~~

I just laid it out for you ffs. Do you see random sprinters and long jumpers show up playing for Real Madrid? do you see guys taking up soccer in college and making it to the Premier League?

If not, why is that?

Athletes who are legit sprinters, long jumpers don't want to just kick a ball around whee 6=5 is a high scoring game.

Dude, soccer is boring, and yes the players aren;t as awe inspirng as we see in football. Simply how it is.

Kicking a ball around, yawn~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ah yes thats definitely what it is

Lets just ignore the part where the literal worlds fastest man has openly and repeatedly admitted he wanted to be a soccer player.

But lets not ignore the fact that the worlds fastest man starred in the NFL ad is in the Hall of Fame. And lets not ignore the fact the NFL has had seven sprint world record holders play in the NFL.

I have tried a few times to watch a soccer match, after 30 minutes I;m totally bored watching .....maybe...1-0.

Sorry guy but the game is slow and boring, I need some excitement, kicking a ball into a net in an hour......aint it,

Soccer is boring to watch

It might be fun to play, but It’s so unbelievably fucking boring to watch. It’s men running after a ball for 90 minutes. Not to mention all of that diving and fake injuries. 1 or 2 goals a game and that’s only meaningful thing that happens.

Let’s compare it to other sports.

Baseball: every pitch counts/is meaningful

Football: every throw/hand off counts

Golf: every shot counts

Basketball: every basket counts

In these sports, these things happen constantly. In soccer, usually just 1 or 2 goals. Over 90 MINUTES. Interesting moments are extremely infrequent and there’s also way too many draws along with 0-0 games. BRUTAL. I understand that it’s really satisfying to score because it’s very difficult, but it doesn’t make for a captivating experience to watch at all. It literally just feels like watching chasing after a ball for 90 minutes with a very occasional cool moment. It sucks.

Just my opinion. Go ahead and downvote me

I have to agree with the above.

I love chess, but no way I would watch others play.

This is what i mean about your stubborness and cult like mentality. I ask you why you dont see a bunch of sprinters etc playing at high levels in soccer, you respond with the obviously bullshit "because they dont want to", I show you fucking USAIN BOLT trying and failing to be a soccer player, and you just act like it never happened and carry on with the same old narrative over and over. Its the story of this thread, and the rugby one.

I barely even watch it these days and its probably not a top 5 sport for me, but its not exactly hard to see its merits as a spectator sport.

1) Its simple, intuitive and easy to understand at a basic enough level to enjoy it, but also has enough tactical depth to not feel shallow.

2) Its aesthetically pleasing, and the concept of "lets put a ball into a net and pass it to each other but we cant use our hands to move it" is pretty ingenious and unique, and leads to it being a highly skilled game.

3) Its free flowing. Theres near constant motion with the ball only being out of play for a very small percentage of the game. 45+ minute long halves with ZERO commercial breaks.

4) Its expressive. Theres a lot of room for creative flashy plays and bits of individual skill. Just look at all the freestyle stuff etc. Between two feet (inside and outside of foot, heel, top and bottom of foot etc etc), two knees, head and chest theres so many ways to move the ball, and ways to chain things together.

Dude, simply telling the truth isn't trolling., try......reality.

Just keep it real, what we have in this tread is some who are loyal to their country a county without NFL Football, so it's more about geography to them, anything USA is going to suck.
lol telling the truth how can guy who runs 38kmh faster be slower then guy who runs 36kmh and so on. nfl has fast guys who just compert in track they are nowhere near the omg he competes in track that means they are fastest thing if soccer would train soccer like olympians train they would be faster then nfl player WHICH THEY ARE but with raw speed not trsined optimal speed. i mean semi soccer player who obviously could not make it in soccer traiend for six months olympic training regiment and beat nfl guys who according to you train like sprinters train all their life by almost .10 aka metcalf heat.see what you do ot understand is put a soccr player in nfl or track he will get respectable speed and time put sprinter or nfl player in soccer they would be average speed because soccer is not stop go but you move and sprint stop all the time and shows what kind of explosivness they have when they go from walking pase to 38kmh or faster

It doesn;t matter what kind of training soccer athletes do they are not as fast as NFLers, how you can;t get that is amazing. Dude, you have any idea at all how different it is running in shorts and a t shirt vs helmet and pads and a football in hand? Stop with this stupididy, ok?

Soccer players are slow compared to the speed positions in the NFL and only you don't appear to not get that reality, SNAP OUT OF IT..

I showed you some soccer guys 100m, dude...10,60 WHAT?????????? A 10.50....WHAT????????

A TON of NFLers have ran a sub 10.20 , soccer guys can't run that. and you have to be told that?

By you not getting the 9.2 thing told me you don't get any of this at all, and everything you post proves that over and over.

How could you not get the 100 yards, that amazes me.

ONE MORE TIME

No sprinter hits that topend until around 50ish meters, you accelerate the first 49ish, so unless a sprinter is clocked/timed after a 50ish you aren;t getting their topend that MAX VELOCITY............I know ya don't get it.

Stop with this ridiculous 38 blah blah, hell put a helmet and pads on the soccer guys and a football in their hand .........ok???????

Rookies, sheesh~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

fica, you do not understand this stuff at all, and I think yu know that so why are yu even here, well?

10.50 10.60 are in soccer game where they do not even run strsigh line. on soccer semi pro soccer player that actualy trained and run 100m was semo pro guy who run 10.26 beating dk by .10

Never use ONE of anything to try and stress any point, you need more. So Bolt couldn't make it, so what? That means nothing. When I talk NFL I use tons of examples.

I was over on a soccer forum last night, a lot of talk about what to do about the boredom, Dude, those are soccer fans complaining about how boring the game is......ok?

The game is too slow, no scoring and inferior athletes compared to footbal and basketball, just kicking a ball around is just not that exciting.......ok? Wow they FINALLY like FINALLY kick a bal into a net................how exciting is that, yep.....it isn't.

No need to keep with this OBVIOUS.......LOOK WE PLAY SOCCER HERE SO IT HAS TO BE BETTER.....ok, you make that way too obvious,

This is excitement..............

your LOGIC is nfl players un track so they are even faster then track guys them self wait for it did not play NFL. now i showed you what semi pro soccer player who could not cut it in soccer did in metcalf heat by only training track for 6 months now imagine what would guys who top speed is faster then nfl top speed could do if they trained track for 6 months. but noooooo i need to hear the logic of nfl player runs track they ar fastest of all sports even more rediculous is he brings times of 100 yard dash not even sancioned olympic or sprinting distance and from 60s where nobody was runnig 100 yards but probably 90 or some what then you even go and say people run that distance in time of 8.6 sec lol you have no idea what you talking about.lie nfl has some made up disciplines like juming high in spot or 40 yard dash that means shit to jumping distance from spot so ff course these things will be nfl bread and butter to say thy are best because ABSOLUTLY NOOBODY ELSE IN SPORTING WORLD TRAINS FOR THEM

Never use ONE of anything to try and stress any point, you need more. So Bolt couldn't make it, so what? That means nothing.

Again, lets bring it back to its original point. American football has random sprinters and long jumpers and guys who never played the sport until they were adults competing at NFL level in it. Meanwhile in soccer if you start playing at 10 its considered late. Its pretty much unthinkable that some kid could take up soccer in college, or transition into it from another sport as an adult and be successful. Your 40 time, 100m time, height/weight, bench press, vertical etc does essentially jack shit for you in soccer.

There is a HUGE difference in the skill factor between the two sports.

I was over on a soccer forum last night, a lot of talk about what to do about the boredom, Dude, those are soccer fans complaining about how boring the game is......ok?

Boring compared to what? do you think those people consider it boring compared to American football?

Again, thats TO YOU, its not objective.

Like I told you before, I have watched American football on and off for like 15 years, I dont dislike the game at all. Ive actually tried to get other people (soccer or rugby fans) into it at times, guess what? they all think its boring as fuck. Ive never actually successfully won anyone over on it, even though I enjoy it to some degree myself.

You talk about "slow" but they tune in to an NFL game and for every minute of viewing the ball might move 10 yards and 2 passes might be made vs probably a dozen plus across 50-60 yards in a soccer game. They will be sitting there watching the NFL game for 3 hours and for over 2.5 of that time the ball wont even be in play vs the ball being in play the vast majority of the time in a soccer game. The NFL game literally cuts to commercials DURING the quarter whereas the soccer game is completely uninterrupted until half time.

No need to keep with this OBVIOUS.......LOOK WE PLAY SOCCER HERE SO IT HAS TO BE BETTER.....ok, you make that way too obvious,

Errr...did you not notice I said it probably isnt even in my top 5 favourite sports?

You are accusing people of what you yourself are guilty of. You were trying to shit on rugby in the other thread and now soccer in this thread when you have clearly barely watched any of either to be able to give an educated opinion on them.

This is excitement..............

So why do you consider that to be excitement but if a soccer player does the same thing (a long run getting past tons of defenders etc) except they do it while trying to keep a ball at their feet and then shoot it into a goal at the end its "boring"?why is it if you see a rugby player do almost the exact same thing you're seeing in that Barry Sanders video you dont think its impressive?

The answer of course, is because you're biased as fuck.

If you can;t see the difference in what Barry Sanders was doing vs soccer and rugby we are done here, you clearly don't get this stuff. A 165 pounder kicking a ball around then into a net is right up there with an 80 yard Barry Sanders run...........WTF~~~~~~~~~~~~

Dude, nothing bias about this at all, yes NFLers are the fastest athletes who play a ball game, not debatable at all. Yes the NFL s far more excting than a running wrestling match like rugby and a 2-1 soccer match.

Reality,,,,,give it a shot.

Soccer right there with this, you can't be serious
