There are no soccer/rugby athletes who can run with NFL players, how many former WORLD CLASS sprinters do I have to list?

Give me a fast soccer or rugby athlete, you can't do it can you?

Soccer players don't do college track so we don't have records of their times but you can't watch Kylian Mbappe or Micky van der Ven run and tell me they're not capable of putting up a fast time if they bothered to learn starts etc

Do doubt either of those guys can break 10.40 for a100m, if they don't train for "speed endurance" they can't actually run a 100m,

Based on his top recorded speed at his peak of 21.4mph (34.47km/h) Lionel Messi’s 40-yard dash time would be around 4.7seconds, whilst his 100m time would probably be somewhere around 12.7seconds.

12.7 is ridiculously slow, I was running faster than that in 8th grade.

I would go as far as to say every single player on every single halfway serious soccer team is going to be in the 4.4-4.6 range with a few here and there faster than that.

They're typically sub 200lb athletes who play a sport that involves lots of running. The talent pool is absolutely gigantic compared to American football too, and that includes having way way way more black dudes playing.

Why on earth would you think the only people capable of sub 4.5 speed are in American football? participation wise its honestly quite a small sport.

That has all us speed geeks puzzled, why don't we see more sprinters out of Africa than we do? Yes there has been some but not like we see in the Caribbean. You'd think with all the blacks in Africa that continent would rule the speed world, but.....nope!

because there's no money in sprinting, honestly.
Outside of America, sports doesnt generate as much money, unless it's futebol. Obviously there's money in other sports too, but they're niche sports (tennis, F1, cricket).

While in america is common to have a track and field program in HS and college. These programs only develop on other countries when the government has an active in interest and pump money on it over the years.

Here in Brazil there has been a couple of instances where a club hired some random kid from an african country who ran sub 10 and they've put the marketing behind... and it didnt pan out cuz the kids didnt have real ball skills.

That being said I do think NFL has more overall elite explosive athletes. But the pool in futebol is way higher, there are what 100k+ professional futebol players around the world (all levels)? NFL is more of elite specialized athletes (around 3k?)

they play soccer like you can see. if gareth bale ronaldo and so on decided to train track they would be faster then nfl players. nothing special about nfl speed useless to constantly get participation trophy "i tried track i sucked" thing. even semi pro soccer play beat dk in track going 10.28 and tothenham guy bale in his prime ronaldo mbape al clocked faster speed then him so they would probably be in 10.10 range

Reaction to the gun, getting out of the blocks....accelerate to your topend which most hit around 50ish meters, now here is what separates things. At around 50ish sprinters hit that top end/max velocity......they will get no faster, so now its "speed endurance" that ability to sustain/maintai your top end. Those who decellerate the least wins the races.

What soccer/rugbyite can run 100 like a legit sprinter can, yep........nobody~ Sprinters must work on that "speed endurance" that is why they run all those 300's. NOBODY.....can just run a 100m without the training it takes. Sure you can run 60ish without falling apart.

fica you have no idea how any of this works why not just bow out, you aren't going to figure it out. To be talking how soccer players can run with Olympic sprinters is ridiculous and you don't even know that.
