so what's the performance enhancing aspect of diuretic precisely?

You have access to the internet TS so you should know what Google is.
They are used to lose weight quickly or to mask PED use it's pretty common knowledge TS don't try and be a sneaky white knight.

Getting busted for the masking agent is the same as getting busted for the PED. Just a matter of timing of the test. As a proven cheater it's worse. The writing is on the wall, I know steroid jaw

Pretty much spot on.. I believe diuretics are banned for the same reason as IV's.. more of a danger to an athlete
 
I don't know the specific reason she is taking it, but I do know that it's against the rules and she did not follow protocol by disclosing it. Unless someone slipped her a mickey or forced her to take it at gun point I can't imagine a possible legitimate excuse for this.

If I was that sick and dehydrated I wouldnt be taking a diuretic, I would be drinking the water from that five pound bikini that once caused her to miss weight until the guy doing the weigh in left the room so she could strip down then all of a sudden the scale corrected itself and she made weight.

Not sure why people are bashing her, all she has done is fail a P!ss test, make the mistake of wearing a wet 5 pound bikini, call out girls with bigger names than her in lower divisions who had other obligations and couldnt fight her so she could get her name in the media. Turn down a fight with one of them, Holly, when she accepted the fight. Beg for a 145 division, turn down title fights in that division, then failed a test for a banned substance .... get off her back.

Sir, she didn't have a fight scheduled - at all - when USADA got the sample that failed.

It's highly likely that it was present to mask steroid use and minimize the appearance of steroid side effects (water retention, etc.).

It's not something you would just take for health reasons while failing to notify USADA/UFC to get a TUE.

Cyborg claiming this was for her post-weight-cut health issues is about as believable as Anderson's Thiagra story.

Both are banned because they can be used to mask PED usage. The ban has nothing to do with their weight cutting aspects.

Very few posters here, if any, are kidney specialists, including you, but we still post in threads like this. What most grown ups do know is what diuretics Are used for in real life, And treating kidney damage is one of them. I also know quite a lot more than most people about other diuretics like Diamox.

What is the purpose of your reply?
 
Whats really important to note is that drugs has a lot of attributes. If the developer of a drug markets it as a diuretic all its other properties gets listed as side effects. In many cases doctor prescribe drugs for their side effects, and not their marketed effects.
You're bad shit crazy if you thing Cyborg started a weight cut after her last fight. This drug for sure had something to do with other chemical properties other than making you shit and piss obviously.

To point out that you citing specifically what diuretics are for is invalid as you are not a nephrologist. What is known is that if she has 'kidney damage', the last fucking thing shoe should be taking is spironolactone (CITATION: http://www.pdr.net/drug-summary/Aldactone-spironolactone-978.2934). Regardless of all that the facts are:

- Cyborg is a known PED user
- She knew that spironolactone was on the USADA banned list
- She took it anyhow, in a situation not warranted for most normal medical uses
- She was busted

Anything else is moot, she's a cheat, got busted, and has zero excuses. I hope the ban hammer comes down hard.

Seems like you really hate Cyborg for some reason? Pretty hard to be objective then? I don't care too much for WMMA, And I certainly don't hate anyone I dont know. Most of the fighters I like have either been caught using a banned substance, or their physical appearance And ability tell me that they Are using something illegal. I don't see how this can change anything.

If Cyborg used the diuretics for medical reasons, a doctor will take the blame, And we will know What happened. Still, Cyborg has signed a contract that says she can not use the stuff, even if she needed it to survive, so she will get the punishment she deserves.

And diuretics Are used for serious kidney damage. You don't need to be a specialist to know that.

The reason they are prohibited is because they are a masking agent, used to mask the presence of PED's



they do as others have said assist with weight cutting etc, but the primary reason for their ban by WADA is as a masking agent
