so what's the performance enhancing aspect of diuretic precisely?

We are not talking doubt. We are talking a proven steroid abuser caught with a drug used by steroid cheats.

The length of the suspension will show if there is doubt. If she gets a year or less, she probably has a good explanation, but if they give her 18 months or two years, they probably don't believe her.

WADA knows what they Are doing, so they probably does What is right.

It should be clear to everyone that she wasn't using diuretics on dec 5 to cut weight

Jones had the substance he popped for on his actual order, and let him get away with calling it "accidental/unintentional use". Anyone with 2 brain cells can see the truth.

WADA has been doing this for ages. They will give her the proper punishment. If they Are in doubt they will give them less. I also believe there is no other reason for Jones/Brock to use blockers than after a testo cure. They must have had more evidence on Machida. I don't really care either way.

Cyborg has Signed a contract. If she is doing diuretics to survive kidney failure, she needs to take the punishment. If she does it to flush out steroids, she also needs to take the punishment. I believe in her case it had to do with the kidneys, since that is What they use the stuff for, And we know she messed up her last weightcut... but I also believe she used a great deal of illegal steroids, so I don't feel sorry for the way they caught her.

She fought in September. She popped for a diuretic in December. Meanwhile she says she can't fight until March. Why use a diuretic 3 months away from a fight in either direction? It's a masking agent.

Even if you believe her ridiculous story, she didn't disclose a blatantly banned drug until after she was popped. And this is her second failed test. She's getting a long suspension and has no one to blame.

So everybody is obvious giddy about Cyborg failing the test, but what exact does diuretic do for one's fighting ability? can someone explain

Help combat the virilizing effects of AAS. Also, if Cyborg had blood that was "too thick to be drawn" no responsible physician would have used a diuretic for her alleged high blood pressure, when numerous, safer compounds abound. She, and her camp, are completely full of shit.

Diuretics such as spironolactone put more stress on the kidneys, not less. Had she actually been suffering the effects she claimed, no responsible physician would have prescribed this compound when other, safer compounds are readily available. So either she is lying or her doctor has no idea of the pharmacology of a very commonly prescribed compound. Which is more plausible?

It is a common drug for kidney damage. I am no kidney specialist, And neither Are you. We can probably read articles of pros And cons. They say diuretics is an unsafe way to treat heart disease too, but it is still common. It really doesn't matter now anyway. She will be punished, And since it is the second time, she will probably be punished hard, even if a doctor is involved in the treatment, And can prove it. Good night.

No, but I have extensive training in biochemistry and pharmacology. I will allow that I am not a nephrologist, but that being said I am well aware of the contraindications of this substance. Assuming Cyborg's camp was honest, and her blood was "too thick" to have a sample drawn, spironolactone is not in any way a compound that should have been used. And even though this closely relates to what has been my field of study for more than 25 years, I still brushed up on the literature before I posted.

At the end of the day, if what she said was true, she should not have been given the medication. Otherwise, she is once again lying, and that is something else to hold her accountable for, so yes, it does matter.

Bottom line is that it's a banned substance.

Masking agent for roids

It's just as important for weight cutting.

Additionally, bodybuilders use to lose more water and appear more defined in competition.

So, right there, you clearly state you have no idea what the fuck you are talking about.

Spironolactone is a steroid as it shares the same unique molecular core as all other steroids known as the ABCD system whereby four rings are joined in a specific configuration.

It is worth noting that Jones was given the maximum sentence - he didn't get away with anything

Cyborg said she couldn't take a fight in February because she was still recovering from the last weight cut, so why would she be cutting weight in December with no fight scheduled? Pretty obvious what she was using it for.

Except Cyborg was recovering from a "bad weight cut"

If she was recovering from dehydrating herself badly, why would she need to dehydrate herself further? With no fight scheduled?

I wasn't referring to Cyborg.

The TS asked what the performance enhancing aspects of diuretics are. I was pointing out that they're used by fighters to game the system and make weight.

Says she would die making 135 weighs low 160s,puts on 10-15 pounds makes 139

Dont use logic were cyborg is concerned
cant make 135

Can't stop taking steroids

Should rename her cantborg

Why is she cutting weight in December if she just had a horrible weight cut and can't cut weight for another 3 months?
Maybe she needs it because her kidneys are fucked up from weight cutting just like Cormiers
