Bugs Bunny did NOT invent leg kicks. Geez SherBro....

I dont get how people write off the Best LHW of all time...like give me one reason why jones wouldnt be successful at HW coming in at like 245lbs top condition...
1. His game doesn't translate to HW.
2. His body doesn't translate HW.
3. His psychological outlook doesn't translate to HW (afraid to lose)
4. Wrestling is shot
5. Chin is untested at HW
6. No power (no deterrent)-- whether you like it or not.
7. Past prime
8. No roids

That's 8 reasons off the top of my head

Lol...

Jones has his issues and is a proven cheat but the dude is a great fighter and if he chooses to be serious about fighting at hW ...that division is in trouble...anyone thinking otherwise is either a hater or simply doesn't understand what there watching when watching jon jones fight...
You asked for a reason so here it is.

His reach advantage is gone at HW. Makes a much more even fight. Add the additional power of the HW division and its a recipe for a KO.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Jones say a while back that he’s naturally a heavyweight who just cuts weight to makes Light Heavy. If so then why has he added all this mass?

the biggest argument is that he looks like shit in is last few fights and looked like he was about the get his first loss soon even at LHW

Isn't Jon younger than Ngannou and only 1 year older than Izzy?

Jones has a crazy lifestyle and that ages you faster. He also started very young and has a lot of mileage. He looked noticeable worse in his last few fights so it's reasonable to think that he can very well be past his prime by now.

My argument against Jones finding success at HW would be age and inactivity more than size. He was slowing down at LHW and starting to look vulnerable. That's a tough time for any veteran fighter, and imo will make his transition to HW harder.

As far as power, I don't see it as an issue really. Jones has a heck of a chin, and doesn't eat a lot of clean punches. He'll survive. On the other side, his style has never been based on power. He doesn't need it.

1) We just saw Gane win a title by controlling distance and picking his shots while remaining patient ...a Game plan jones has done many times..its actually his M.O to be controlling and use his high fight iq

2)HIS BODY DOESNT TRANSLATE?? WTF ..the haters have been saying for years Jones is a HW hiding at LHW now his body doesnt translate...he has the same overall frame as Ngannou..height and reach wise... The guy whos currently champion..

3)Afraid to lose?...u mean like every fighter especially HWs?...did u forget Ngannou starring at Lewis for an entire fight... Lmfao these r too good...

4)wrestling is shot, based on what exactly? He beat reyes hes last opponent with wrestling...took D.C down...and took down and GNP Gus Into non relevancy

5)Chin is untested at HW... semi fair point...however has Jones actually been rocked ever? ...i dont remember any stacky legging like.ngannou did against stipe from jones...and he faced some hard hitters like rampage..

6)no power....?...he has stoppages on his record at 205... including a head kick of D.C... and somehow at 245lbs he doesn't have power?..if theres one thing HWs have its power...they all have it..

7) past prime- this may be true for 205 possibly ... But HWs age differently...HW has always had the oldest running fighters...hes still young and prime for HW...

8) Not sure how this factors in... U really didnt think these through...he could be juicey most suspect he is still... Hes passed all 10 of his tests this year so far but that could be wrong...either way not sure how this explains he loses.

Try harder ...

So the your only as good as your last fight type argument...

Which in reality means absolutely fuck all for Jones fighting at HW

Because he is trading what would make him successful at HW to come in as a big HW. He doesn't need to be massive. His way to victory was to continue to use his length and take 5 round decisions from people with superior cardio and opportunistic takedowns. Instead he seems to be trying to come in as someone with KO power.

He doesn't need to stack on weight. It will take away the advantage he has with his speed. He has trained for years with Mir,Arlovski and Overeem to name a few. Only he knows how he went, but the want to add heaps of weight is concerning.

His style should change at HW. He should have added a little weight and gone up when DC was champ.

Inactivity i agree that could be a problem but hea comeback from breaks and won..but at HW his age isnt bad younger then the current champ and most of the HW roster ..

I think his age was making the 205 weights harder... especially with less juice or no juice..HW jones could be a much healthier Jones for all we know...alot of unknowns
