Not sure what you are trying to prove with that excerpt, it's basically just saying the term has been being misused for longer than I thought, doesn't change the fact it's being misused though.

And that's what makes you "that guy". You argue over semantics and literal meanings in a world where most people just accept the fact that definitions change and grow with the language like new words being added to the dictionary. Based on popular usage. Born out of ignorance or not.

It's also a pretty insignificant difference between a race and an ethnicity. Especially when talking about discrimination based on one or the other.
