So paddy’s weight…

Gotcha, I was just commenting on the fact that nobody calls him a weight bully even though he cuts from a heavier weight.
Yeah but a lot of that is fat.

People only call it weight bullying if you cut a massive amount of water weight. Even then I think it’s a stupid term. All that matters is if you make the weight.

He cuts 20 pounds of water, that's significant tbh.
I agree with you though.

I'd never take a short-notice fight unless it was for a title. Too much at stake to not prepare properly.

Until he misses weight, IDGAF how much he blows up between fights. Its his body.

Paulo is helping him get back on track with that diet. Don't worry.

That's me also, I yo-yo like fuck, but now I am near 40 I am getting fatter and find it harder to find the discipline to get the weight back down

I literally go from 215 to 260plus then back down, then repeat. It can't be good for the body so once I get back down, I will never allow myself to go past 240, in fact I am going to try and stay under 230!

I can live like a monk for weeks on end, then turn into a remorseless eating/drinking beast for months!

I need to cut the drink, it is my main trigger

I thought it was just me who yo-yos 60 pounds every 1.5 years.

He cut 12 lbs of water the night before for his last fight. Actual 7lbs of cutting then slept off the other 5lbs.

He said he can get up to 200lbs.
From his lips not mine, and that seems like an awfully big jump in weight sir.
It is and it isnt, he fights at 155lbs but he isnt 155lbs, probably fights in the 170-175lbs range once he goes back to the cage, most likely 180lbs by monday morning and thats without doing anything special to recover the weight back.

It's one thing to eat large, quality meals that are high cal but this dude is eating loads of unhealthy trash. Its almost like he enjoys the attention and the ridiculous weight cut challenge. I don't get it.

For someone supposedly savvy about maximising his earnings, ballooning in weight between fights is incredibly stupid.

Combat sports are littered with examples of this taking its toll on athletes, shrinking the already small window of their prime years.

That said it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I think he's a penis and look forward to him being starched when he fights someone good.

He's an occasional fatty. I am too. When I get so fat I'm disgusted and my wife calls me a fatfuck, I get back in shape, then I get fat again after a few months.

That's called "enjoying life", and eating/drinking are some of the best things in life.

Why not keep both exercising and eating? :D

It's common for a lot of folk

When I was a competitive lifter my weight category was 205. We had 2 hour weigh ins so it was never a good idea to cut too much water weight

I usually would walk around anywhere between 210-215. Problem was following comps I would start drinking and go up to 240 plus and then back down for comps again

Now I don't compete, my weight claimed as high as 270!

I'm still lifting and back at martial arts, so I'm on my way back down. Was 246 this morning, so will try to take another 30lb off for Christmas and stay disciplined. I don't want to go above 230 again! Certainly not 240 plus!

Paddy’s junk food addiction is more of a detriment to his career than a cocaine habit would be. Just ask Bony

True but he can accept short notice fights at a higher weight if he wants. BJ Penn has fought at HW. :p
True but I doubt many fighters would be willing to do the things BJ was willing to do lol. That's what separated BJ from other fighters.

I don't think it's "entirely unprofessional." It just means they can't offer him super short-notice fights. He's not missing weight, now is he?

They are independent contractors who work when they want to work and only get paid when they work. He doesn't need to fight at the drop of a hat because Uncle Dana asked.
What do you consider super short notice though? Say the UFC calls him and says in 8 weeks they have a fight available. If he has to lose 50 pounds and his response is I need at least 10 weeks for 'camp' when really part of 'camp' is losing a ton of weight that's kind of an issue. I don't know that its unprofessional, but like Dana says kinda limits what they can offer him.

I know all that sir.
