So I started collecting vinyl again

Had a lot of fun reading through this thread. Ive not bought any vinyl for a couple of years but this has given me the itch. Don't think i'll start buying seriously again as its so expensive these days but ill start hitting up some charity shops to see if I can get a some amusing album art.

posted in the amazon thread but last month i got two linkin park records. standard copy of hybrid theory and a splatter variant of meteora.

(tbh i think it looks kinda, well dull at best and ugly at worst lol. but hey, its about the music)

i listen to these cds all the time in my discman, and when i seen the records were only $30 each i thought heck, thats not too shabby! and grabbed them.

i want to grab a copy of lady gaga's mayhem but im not wanting to spend $60 on a standard copy.

Nice find. Last time I was back in Chicago I hit up a few record stores with my friend and he bought that one.

Was looking through my discogs collection page. I have 200 records even now. Based off of the median value and what I think I've actually spent (because I usually try to buy high end records under median) I've probably spent about $5500-6000 on vinyl in the past 2.5 years.

I need help lol

I forgot to post my recent additions, I'll dig them out when I'm better

Just a word on Discogs @TeTe they are making it impossible to sell vinyl at a reasonable price. I list on eBay and Discogs at the same time, eBay I pray zero fees. eBay also takes care of the postage at a reduced rate, all I do is print a label.
Discogs charge me a buyer and a seller fee each time, plus a PayPal fee, it basically comes to around 21% if my listed price. So I have to increase the prices so much that no one actually buys them. Discogs also gets a lot of scammers, the amount of orders I have to cancel is ridiculous

Been selling a ton on eBay though

21%? Fucking hell. You have to pay a buyer fee too? Do these people think they're some sort of auction house? Shit, I don't blame you for avoiding them. I honestly don't buy much on discogs either. Just a few EU pressings that I couldn't find on eBay or in store.

That's awesome you don't have to pay fees on eBay. Unless you just mean listing fees. I still have to pay 12.7% final value fee on sale price. But there is a discount for shipping. Still way better than Discogs.

I looked up the fees a few days ago, it's pretty much a con. They're taking advantage of their position in the marketplace

And yep zero fees on eBay, if it sells for £50 I get the full £50. I think different items have different fees, but media is 100% free

Just got this in the mail today

This was a limited release in 2025 only sold on Subpop's website. They had the band sign copies of a few different albums. Naturally I couldn't get a copy at their price because it sold out instantly. So I had to buy on discogs for 2.5x the price Subpop sold it for. That was the cheapest price... Everyone on eBay wanted $160 plus.
