How about the pride parades? The S&M costumes leather wips and men dancing around with their asses out in front of children. Does that represent the struggles and fight for basic civil liberties?

Same sex marriage was legalized in ONE state in 2004. It only finally expanded to all 50 states in 2015 (3 years ago). There are still a few counties in Alabama that refuse to issue same sex marriage license.

I think most of us know we aren’t going to change many minds. It’s just a way to get things off your chest, without clouding up our real lives and the debate is fun.

Yeah, as an outlet, and for a certain level of discussion I'm sure it works.
I find it restrictive and I can't get into the right mindset for online discussion.

I always find myself frustrated at the lengths I have to go to in order to really convey my thoughts, which may also be a reflection of my writing ability.
And then after I've written like 4 paragraphs the other person posts some nonsense meme and is like LOL you're mad and stops talking.

It's just not for me.
