Don’t underestimate how impressionable young people are, it doesn’t take much to convince dumb misguided kids they’re doing the right thing. If you’re ok with the Feds playing those tricks in principle, then you should be ok with them playing tricks on Flynn. Just be consistent. Charging and prosecuting someone who lies to the Feds is entirely up to their discretion, and they’ve ALWAYS had sneaky ethically dubious tactics coupled with immense power, typically they deploy these powers against folks who have no power or influence and nobody bats an eye. All of a sudden a powerful guy gets a taste and everyone has their panties in a bunch. This story is a huge nothing burger.

Maybe it’s not what you do, but there’s plenty of evidence that it’s a routine law enforcement tactic. The FBI goes even further and regularly entrap people all the time, all of a sudden it’s an issue because it happened to someone with influence?
