So do some people still think Meisha is the favorite over Cyborg?

Please show where Cyborg has demonstrated better wrestling or a better ground game in MMA.
Actually, she's been taken down quite often in her career but nothing has ever come of it. I guess that says something.
Edit: except her first fight obviously.

I'm a big Meisha fan... But she's basically "Cyborg Lite". At 140 lbs I think Meisha wouls be finished, unfortunately... If Cyborg made a REAL weight class at 135, I'd pick Meisha at least if it was the first fight or 2 for Cris at weight...

She has no chance against Cyborg...worst style match you could make for Tate - Cyborg is better in all areas.
Doubt Cyborg is as good with offensive grappling or as good in scrambles or as good at making 135, but other than those, yeah, pretty much this

Don't see a good route for Tate's victory

No shit sherlock. MMA fans are allowed to indulge in hypotheticals.

You didn't pose it as a hypothetical, but rather like you assume the fight's going to happen. At least acknowledge that we don't know how Cyborg would perform at 135lb since she's never fought there before.

It's hard to see Miesha as a favourite in this fight...

Miesha has a way better resumé. And we dont know how good Cyborgs cardio is if Miesha survives the knockdown.
Miesha does not have a better resumé and we have actually seen cyborg in a 4th round and she wasn't gassed at all.

I haven't seen much of Cyborg's fights but if she did what she did against Carano which supposed to be a beast performance then Tate is the favorite due her great ground game ..

Of course no one favors Tate over Cyborg at any weight. That's why they don't want to see Tate fight Cyborg especially at a CW.

Miesha has literally nothing for Cyborg.

The only one who can give her troubles is Holm. Styles make fights.

When and what thread? I wouldn't favor a lady over Cyborg in any weight class. She's like a dude man! o_O

They don't seem like very similar fighters at all... Nunes is closer to Cyborg Lite.

I would not count Meisha out completely. She's shown she has a good chin, good cardio, and decent wrestling/takedowns. Her best chance would be to play it just like the Holm fight: play defensively and time takedowns. Survive until the championship rounds and then try to grind out Cyborg on the ground/cage. I could see Cyborg punching herself out and slowing down in the championship rounds (especially at 135, I think she would be depleted).

On their feet, Meisha gets starched like your grandmother's linens. Cyborg is stronger, more experienced, and more-than-likely takes Tate's head clean off especially if the fights at 140+.

I've seen some argue this. I am not sure if they are a majority or a loud minority and Sherdog. IMO Cyborg will light Meisha up on the feet, unlike Holm who was generally looking to counterstrike. Holm was concerned of the takedown and it limited her striking, whereas Cyborg won't be totally squashed if it does end up on the mat.
Discuss.

I'd like to see exactly who you're fake quoting because I've never read about Tate beating Cyborg.

Might be wrong but you're basically pulling shit out of your ass.

Meisha would get treated like a little kid in the ring with Cyborg.

Cyborg is overrated as hell.

But she'd still destroy Tate. Bad matchup.

If Cyborg makes weight I think Miesha would beat her. I think Cris would have trouble beating anyone in the top 5 at 135 lbs. Miesha wouldn't be the typical Cyborg opponent who stands right in front of her and does her best imitation of a human punching bag. Miesha would use movement and try to stay on the outside and pick her opportunities to take her down, just like she did with Holly.

Also, Cyborg's cardio is untested and she expends a lot of energy in the 1st round while carrying a lot of muscle. I could see Cyborg slowing down and getting tired the longer the fight goes on. Miesha is used to being in long battles. Cyborg is not. Miesha would wear her ass out and win by submission.

Having said all that, Cyborg won't lose the 3 or 4 lbs necessary to make this fight happen.

She isnt.Meisha hasnt had an amazing performance against average 135ers since she entered the ufc, let alone against a beast like cyborg.
