So... ah... I don't like Star Wars

The reason why people don't enjoy the Prequels is because they don't recognize George Lucas's real talents.
He's the world's most creative audio/sound effects engineer.

I have yet to witness any other director/audio engineer to match his talent for sci-fi films.
I believe Lucas is a once in a lifetime creative sound technician able to invent and reinvent real organic sounds and effects depicting the future.
You need a good ear to hear this stuff in the attention to details and imagining in your mind what he did to create those sounds from scratch.

The sounds he generated for THX 1138 were absolutely fucking brilliant!

The original 3 were alright, basically a western. All the rest are bullshit, but then I was a kid when I watched the first 3.

It would be an interesting world but it's everywhere. They should have done firefly like series etc instead of so many films.

George Lucus tried to put too many things in the later films, he was kept in line in the first 3 and that made them a little more digestible.
 
Most people hate the Star Wars prequels and sequels, they're just bland garbage designed to sell merchandise and/or push an ideological agenda.

On the topic of highly regarded movies, I recently watched Goodfellas for the first time and found it boring/formulaic.

Lucas basically moved towards the ideas/producer role in the 80's and then further towards the technical side in the 90s. I think Spielberg convincing him to move back to writing/directing the prequels was a big mistake, he should have stayed in the role he had in the sequels and the Indy films with someone else scripting and directing.

If I were trolling is put more effort in to it. I made it because at the time i opened Mayberry and the top 2 posts were star wars and was curious to know.

Also hell yeah early seagul movies. I'm sure they were almost all the same but good in a budget way.
 
I remember being fascinated with the toys, being a little kid in the late 1980's/early 90's.

I didn't actually see the movies until I'd already been exposed to the merchandise, toy adverts etc.

The movies were a bit of a letdown by comparison.
 
I loved the original trilogy especially Empires Strikes Back. But the rest after is garbage. Doesn't have the great storytelling and too much CGI action scenes.
 
I LOVED the original trilogy as a kid and even liked the prequels to an extent. Watching as an adult is...harder. The acting is pretty rough in every movie. A New Hope is a fun space adventure, Empire Strikes Back is the best film, and Return of the Jedi has the great ending, but they are flawed movies. The prequels are terrible and the new trilogy is just awful and doesn't even feel like Star Wars to me. The video games are probably the best thing to ever come out of Star Wars, especially KOTOR.

Not scared to admit it. Maybe because Star Wars is not that big in my country and idiots dont go around saying that Jedi is a religion or some shit like that.

Tried watching The Empire Strikes Back, just way too campy to get through. Awful dialogue all around. It didn't age well.
