So... ah... I don't like Star Wars

35. Most others close around that age seem to love it.

I'm more into the classic action shit like die hards, predators, termintors etc.

I was hoping for some negative attention cos I'm at the gym so it could fuel my lifts. Or if they just my feelings too much I'd go into a safe space.
I'm right at the same age. My dad didn't care about it, and none of my relatives did either. We were more of a Gremlins,Goonies,Indiana Jones ect, family when the cousins and stuff were together growing up.Even my friends and I when we were in Elementary and Middle School were more into TMNT, Karate Kid,Rocky, Van Dam, ect. So Star Wars has never meant much to me, because I really don't think I saw one until the re-mastered version came out before Episode 1. At that point I was 14 or so?, I had more on my mind that summer than some space story.

I have seen them since then..well not the two independent movies and the Last Jedi? I can see the appeal for kids, but I have no connection to them. In fact my favorite memory involving Star Wars was in the leadup to The Force Awakens I saw a wall of people on social media, preemptively cursing out or threatening violence against anyone who dare post spoilers.

These are functioning "professional adults" with families, going that low. So what did I do? I went lower, I went to a first showing, and then posted "KYLO REN KILLS HAN, HIS FATHER" . Caps to draw the eyes and too short to back out. Asshole move I know, but kamikaze moments like that are few and far between.

You guys can hurl abuse if you find it necessary but I don't why it's so popular. The original trilogy are good movies but they wouldn't make my fav movies of all time. All the later stuff, seen 2 or 3 of them and I think meh.

Anyone else not a fan thats not too scared to admit it?
Who abused you about this?

Really since the first trilogy I'd say Rogue One is the only good Starwars film we've seen, the rest depend pretty heavily on fandom of the originals so would have little attraction for someone who doesn't love them.

I'm not a huge fan of the films and skipped all the new ones. But I love it as a video game franchise. I've gotta step up and read of the Expanded Universe because I hear there's lot of golden Imperial/Sith material in there. That's the problem with the Star Wars films. I've got German blood. I want the Empire to win. Fuck the Rebels.

Before Bristol trip-hop took off in the 90's the only famous person from my area was David Prowse so everyone used to cheer for Vader. They should have kept the original dialog...

I think star wars would not have been that popular if not for light sabers.

They were such an amazing cool and unique thing to see on screen in 1977, and they are probably still the coolest weapon in all of sci fi

I love the first three, but I also understand there's people that don't.

The original: A hokey fun sci fi/fantasy with mixed performances from the cast. It feels much more dated than the sequels.

The Empire Strikes Back: My introduction to SW....and I loved it.

I think this is the movie that cemented Darth Vader as the most iconic villain and Star Wars as a timeless franchise. If this movie sucked...I think Star Wars would be remembered the way other popular sci fi classics with awful sequels are now remembered.

This is one of those rare sequels that retroactively makes the original better. It also had the best cliffhanger ending I can think of.

Return of the Jedi: For kids...incredibly entertaining.

For adult SW fans...it's a half terrible movie and half great movie.

My only memory of the ones after the originals(?) is jim jam bonks and r2d2 screaming and getting tossed around.

Gamewise battlefront on PS2 is supposed to be awesome? Got it but yet to give it a spin.

Im not gonna fuel your workouts of 25lb dumbbell curls by saying youre just trolling.

Still....wtf.

Star Wars was awesome.

The films.
The books.
The lore.
The video games.
The comics.

And then George Lucas sold it all to white slavers known as Disney.

It hasn't been the same, and it will never be the same.

I watcd the first three a few years ago as I seemed to be the only one who hadn't seen them in my late 20s.

Hated them! Couldn't enjoy a moment of them.

Same applies for star trek or any other nerdy type sci fi.

Yeah sci-fi isnt my thing either. The aliens movies are cool but that's more horror and action and the first starship troopers but again action.

The fact you can even consider my responses as anything close to abuse tells me all I need. I'd tell you to pull up your big girl panties and carry on but that would be doing women a disservice..

Ah right, sorry. Did you want me to threaten to tell the mods your being mean to me or talk about safe spaces or something?

Watching star wars hurt so bad, I had to put on a Steven segal movie instead.

Can you point on the doll where the bad man touched you?

The Vader Sessions using lines from other James Earl Jones films is my favourite of those.......baseball.........
