Small trucks are back

The problem with the extra long beds is the turning radius is dogshit, especially if you want the extra row of seats. I just sold my dad's old Tundra with extended cab and long bed, and that thing was like driving a bus. Doable but U-turns in traffic or any kind of parking job was rough.

The "trucks" in the OP are basically small SUVs with open cargo area, but happy medium is probably something like the old Tundra with extended cab and short bed or a Tacoma.

I’m a man so I know how to maneuver a large vehicle.

I’m not a magician though so I can’t park them in a space that’s smaller than the vehicle, which is the only downside for me.

These days, if you want to haul something, just have an SUV with a trailer hitch and either buy or rent a trailer. Even better, just rent a truck when you need to haul something.

36th level wizard magician here. Have also driven plenty of larger vehicles but this thing was much bigger than standard size parking spots. Fine for rural or suburban driving but rush hour city traffic and tight parking garages = no bueno.

I would buy one in a heartbeat.

Toyota's one the biggest offenders of truck bloat.

Look at how much bigger they made the Tacoma since it first came out

This. I'm a big Toyota fan but the current Tacoma is the size of the Tundra from 20 years ago. It's all good if you have the space but congested areas create some limitations.

Been considering this. 80k for a truck or a few thousand for a trailer. Just need something big enough to handle full sheets of 4x8 ply.

Small trucks have always been pretty point less to me you cant haul anything with them or carry stuff like furniture or work things and they dont have the uses of an suv

This is why I love Sherdog. We love small single cab trucks with bench seats. Bring them back. Bring them all back!

I was thinking about a big one ton truck, but got a little Toyota pickup instead. It tows well for being a small truck!

Not great for furniture? I disagree. They're great for hauling furniture. And dirt bikes, and lawn mowers, ladders, tools, or any big things you buy from Home Depot, like 2x4s.

The only thing they don't handle well is towing, or a super heavy load, like a pallet of bricks.

Once in a while here I see people driving these tiny trucks/vans from Japan that look like tiny step up from moped. Talking about the ones imported from the streets of Japan. The ones that might be able to fit inside a food lunchwagon truck.
