Slow progress huh? Check out my strength gains.

zerchers are excellent great choice
the bwx10 is too much of a challenge but how bout I challenge you to BWx.75 zercher x 5 reps

so if you are 120 you gotta do 90x5

thing is I might be losing weight. At most I had 120 kg sometime last years, this morning 114 kg. So by reducing my weight I can easier lift according to my bw my stupid sherdog friend :) . Nah sorry joking sorry, I mean I noticed doing cardio and like "athletic" excercises - I might overal improve but my lifts stay the same and don´t go up at all. Cause I gotta practice to lift in a certain way to increase it, meaning max strength to get the nubmers up. I´m doing hybrid stuff. I also wanna do 1 month Thailand. And wanna start doing more workouts, but I need to organsie my days better for that. I thing the smartest thing people do is get fights, only way to get good. I always dodge it and "wait". Like so what if I lose, is it gonna crush me.
170 isn't big it's an ok intermediate lift I bet most guys who posting his sub can do that easily
it just takes work and following a program.
definitely can´t, just the ones who can do a lot are the ones providing numbers.

sorry I realized from your last post I didn't answer weight. I am about 100 kg hopefully less. I also carry a bit too much fluff. and I will be 35 next week.
congrats on the weight loss, that's one of the reason why for you I was challenging you to bw based numbers. so if you lose weight it gets easier.

fights…
yea ego getting crushed is a thing but if we are being honest death is always a possibility. it's extremely unlikely but you never know. when I was just getting started boxing one of the older gym mates(a girl) accidentally killed another girl in an amateur match. not only did it end the the other girls life but it changed her life too. she quit combat sports all together and she was extremely sad and regretful.
that is an extreme case and not likely at all but it is a possibility.
if you never fight or compete and you feel scared. it's okay, do something else. listen to your body if it's not right don't do it. fighting doesn't magic ally solve a problem, and there are many ex pros who are scarred from that experience for life.

all that being said I don't want to discourage competing. instead I want to you to think about why. of you wanna compete just because your identity is a fighter but you haven't trained regularly in years or started regularly in years. let it go and do something else. it's a big world

i thought you were older than me. 35 is a good age.

yeah I mean only reason I always opted to not take any fights, besides once. Sparring you know what it´s like taking a good shot, brain damage is no joke. If fighting didn´t hurt and cause damage, we all would be fighters, it would be easy.

How the fuck did a girl manage to hit hard enough to kill another girl (RIP) in the ammys that she passed ?

apsolutely true. Dying is a low low chance, getting brain damage is guaranteed. Just the trick is to not get a lot of overal damage so you enjoy it and reap the benefits. You don´t wanna do 20 fights, achieve nothing and be phisically compromised.

mmm my mentality right now is I got like 3 years left of being able bodied. So train as hard as I manage and if I like to compete if not it´s fine. Just don't let it slip away without training. I can do other things later too.

fighting doesn't magic ally solve a problem,

it´s just a challenge and "hobby / passion"

and there are many ex pros who are scarred from that experience for life.
I know we see them all the times, including guys who are rich, I wouldn´t wanna be CroCop or Hunt for example. Too much damage and surgeries. Regardless of Mirko being a Legend and living in a Palace.

I just wanna do what I grew up watching and enjoyed and show myself I can do it.

The world is big but what is as interesting as kickboxing fights ? What would be better than winning fights.

My friend just died age 41. I think life is not real right now. God created all of this. It's like a cosmic things that ends when God says so. My mom is 77 and says don't make plans, life is now, she is right. How did my friend just die. Out of nowhere. Like how are we not gonna see him again. It's mystical, God created all of this.

that's good for you that you have that belief I hope it helps you.
you never know what will happen so it's good to try and be present in the day and not try to get too lost in bs imo

I think @Baby Hanma put a voodoo curse on me because I've now programmed back in pause squats for the time being.

I like pause squats especially to pins. I hate box squats.

For some reason they really throw off my squat movement. I still do them when I am told, but I find I never fully commit to heavy weights with them.

At this point it's something to do with my hip issues getting older. At higher weights, I'm having trouble right at the just above parallel to below parallel part when I hit higher weights that I'd move in the 1-4 range where my descent slows down. My entire tempo gets thrown off. I think staying down in the hole for a bit and getting comfortable there will help.

Ironically, my assistance afterwards is high box squats. If I do it on a bench, I'm just a few inches above parallel. I can do pretty ridiculous weights on those.

I was doing them just below parallel recently onto a sandbag and I think that was the issue. My bench is a touch high for the depth I was aiming for.

The movement was giving me the issue you are trying to fix minus hip issues.

I think I was just annoyed because it was limiting my weight and basically forcing me to grind through the worst part of a squat in a wide stance style, when I prefer a closer stance and more upright posture. Give me lunges or zerchers any day of the week instead.

Personally, I'd never do box squats unless they were just at parallel or higher. On the flip side, pause squats I'm generally deeper than I'd normally squat. It's similar to the level that I catch a snatch in.

Yeah they were meant to be just parallel but can't quite get the box at the right depth with my set up.
I chose the deep option over the higher option and I think it was the wrong choice. I was lunging anyway so some higher squats wouldn't have been an issue.

Instead of adding weight you should just add time and pause longer. Anything less than pausing for less than 5 mins per rep doesn't count...
