Skyrim Special Edition

There are rare occurrences where a Giant hits you and you fly into the air like a rocket. It happened to all of us. But did you know that when it happens, you fly at an extraordinary 76m / seconds up to an height of 215 meters? No wonder you rarely survive one of those massive hits!

If you can listen to an annoying nerd for 15 minutes, he will break down all the math and Rocket science needed to come to that conclusion.

The best is coming upon a group of bandits attacking a couple giants. Try and catch the flying bandit is a fun game.

If you watched the video, the nerd console-summons an army of guards to face an army of Giants in Whiterun. The result is awesome: Giants just send guards flying everywhere!

Catch the guard is a fun game too.

SOB...

This is the first two missions I have stopped midway. I think the mission is find or charge the lexicon and the other is the missing elder scroll. Not sure but they were in the same area. I got lost in there. I must have missed something cause I can't find or figure what I am suppose to do or where I am suppose to be. The maze keeps going down and down and eventually I get to a wide open underground area with these weird floating jellyfishes... was stuck down there for a good hour or two roaming around until I got tired and just left.. i'll do the dawnguard missions instead. but fuck... I can't believe I had to quit like that... grrrr...

Blackreach can be confusing, but the quest marker points the way pretty well.

I hated that area personally. That nirnroot quest took forever.

Really? I kinda like it. There are a lot of little details in all those rooms that made it feel like a lost city. I found it easy to imagine the Dwemer society having been there.

It looks neat but it's so easy to get lost. I just remember how happy I was to finally get out of there.

That's true. I can still get lost there. Took me awhile but I can fine one of two exits from just about anywhere at this point. Finding anything else...well that takes awhile.

These are two very complicated missions. Don't blame yourself or don't think the rest of Skyrim goes that way: it's much easier. If I had to make a top 10 of complicated / crazy quests: nirnroot, lexicon and elder scroll would easily make the cut, alongside "discerning the transmundane" and DLC quests.

That's it. Blackreach is already hard to reach. Once there, you can stay a real-life day and still have not explored everything. Don't go there if you're not ready to stop your normal game and focus entirely on multiple quests. You're not supposed to go to Blakcreach, do an in-and-out and never return. You're supposed to reach a point, advance different quests and then go to Blackreach.

I will not go into details, they are yours to discover. But I tell you: I went to Blackreach 4-5 times in total in all my playthrough and every time, it was like a separate Skyrim game. New area, new monsters, a secret hidden dragon, dwarven centurions, dwemers, traps and mages; what's not to like? You go there, stay there a while to clean everything up and leave.

Don't leave without discovering the secret of Nirnroot, killing every living thing then killing every unliving things! Blaskreach is Skyrim in a nutshell. They could easily have closed the area, made a DLC packarge and call it Elder Scroll: Blackreach. Nobody would have complained, I swear. Keep in mind that you cannot clean it up in one shot: you open an elevator and you come back at least once. But you can do 75% in your first pass and do all that remains when you return. I did it.

Very few people know you can summon a Secret Special Dragon in Blackreach. Learn how to before going there, you will not regret it, I promise:

A little cheat for black reach. When you first enter go into sneak mode and enter the river directly to your right. Swim all the way to the endpoint. You will avoid all the falmer and enemies.

is there a way to qickly switch weapons/spells without pressing Q?

I dont see a way to bind them to the hot keys.

As a left-handed player, I always reconfigure keys so I don't remember what Q is supposed to do. Tell us the action it normally does to confirm what button it is. There is no "quick select" button that I know of.

That's the closest thing to quick access. Limited but so useful. I forgot about it but I constantly use it, it's like a reflex now.

Press the favorite button to open the menu (and instantly pause the game). Select the weapon or spell you want to quick access. Select a number to assign the chosen item to. Close the menu and resume playing.
________

Quick tips for the Favorite menu:

Keep Favorites to a minimum to avoid having to scroll down the menu for hours. You'll be opening the Fav menu constantly: remove anything you do not use on a regular basis.

Always know which hand you want to use. Ex: Open the Fav menu. Click on Flames with right hand but remember to click on your shield with left hand. That way, you can block an attack, stun your opponent with shield bash and use flame to light him up and damage him until he recovers.

Switch back to your sword if you prefer melee combat, keep lighting him up if you have marshmallows in handy.

Last hint: refrain from constantly using the favorite menu. Even the inventory is a break in gameplay. Don't work against you but set limitations to keep the fun going. Ex: refuse to open menu in combat unless you are in critical condition. Give yourself a 5-times-limit for the fav menu, for each battle. After that, kill everything or die and restart... 5 meters earlier.

With Quick saves and Solid Saves, don't fear dying. Fear transforming Skyrim in a constant menu browsing task instead of in-game fun. The game is supposed to be enjoyed, not worked.

So set your things in cities or while exploring. Use prep time to cast your buffs and set your weapons. Then, enter the battle and use Pause only a handful of times until the battle is over. If you can't do it, you need to work on your character build. Or just set the difficulty one step lower.

It's a game, it's meant to be fun!
