Skyrim Special Edition

Thanks for the heads up... I figured I'd ask this question soon anyway.
yeah and the archery mechanics really pick up once you unlock the eagle eye and slow time perks.

Im a bit confused. I have Skyrim plus all the DLC's including high res textures. Bought it when on sale two summers ago on Steam. Is this version better graphically than the default games high res DLC?

Does feel great that i got the Bioshock and Skyrim remastered versions all for free : )

Having played for 2 hours already, I would say the difference is easily noticeable but not stunning. It's definitely better than high texture but more demanding too. I don't have a good enough PC to judge: Special Edition "defaults" at medium quality while my normal Skyrim defaults at high. I have tried Ultra quality just to see but the difference is not that impressive and there's some FPS drop.

I'd say try it if you get it for free but don't buy it if you don't.

Lol I swear the most obnoxious characters in this game are all "essential" haha.

Huge graphics upgrade for me but that's 360 to PC. NeoGAF is saying that it isn't that big of an upgrade over the original PC version. Hopefully future mods will take care of that.

The original defaulted to Ultra High and the remaster defaulted to High for me. I didn't mess with any of the settings yet.

that sexy moment when your game downloads and it auto sets to ultra graphics..

It's such a great feeling lol

Does this game look good on Xbox One? I've only ever played vanilla on 360 and I'm hoping for a considerable graphic update here.

Does Skyrim still belong to the Nords? Hopefully they didn't wuss out and change the Stormcloaks dialogue. That shit was hilarious.

Played a few hours on xbox last night. Its a nice remaster, having mods kicks ass even if they are limited. I have missed mods since I stopped gaming on a PC. The updated graphics are nice, the lighting is well done, depth of field is great...the absence of those blocky shadows cant be understated. $60 is pricey but being able to play it on the xbox one is great for me, much better experience than the 360 or my old PC.

Can anyone confirm macho man dragon mods work on XB1?

damn im having major issues with nexus mods. Like half the mods i downloaded are having error reports and ican't find any mods at all on steam fml

Put in so many hours into this game, but enough time has passed to where I can replay it without the game being stale.

Hope the Mods live up to the hype.

The Mods have some pretty cool summons that aren't in the vanilla game.

From armored trolls, to Vampire lords, to gargoyle brutes (not the summon from the Dawnguard Dlc, this is another monster entirely), to elder Dragons, and even centaurians.

These bad boys are no joke:

It's nice having them on your side for once.

After a couple of hours of experimentation, I'm putting it on ice. I definitely don't have the machine to enjoy the Special Edition. Ultra settings gives me FPS drop and the differences are slim. I noticed that "depth of field" makes a huge difference: there is now a slider to adjust it in settings. The higher you go, the brighter are close objects compared to the background. If you have it all the way up, the background can seem foggy but objects in front of you "shine".

It's a cool feature for "Ultra Settings" geeks but I can enjoy the game without it. The biggest improvements I noticed are with the lighting and the realistic feeling of the wilderness. Some cool features here and there but nothing groundbreaking I can enjoy without performance issues. My modded saves don't seem to be supported by the Special Edition but I still have to try different things before giving up.

I think I'll just wait until I upgrade my machine to jump back in. Besides, I have Civ VI to try so I'll go ahead and put Skyrim on ice...

"Skyrim Special Edition will now detect your video hardware and set video options accordingly"

"Video settings have been set for Ultra Quality"

I've playing about 6 hours today. At level 8 after doing a bunch of story missions and a couple of side mission.

I need to do some exploring and leveling up before I go any further with the story though.

Using the dark elf, magic in one hand, weapon in the other.
