Skyrim Special Edition

Had never played Dawnguard before and the dreaded vampire attacks have started in my game, i made the long trek to the fort to start the quest, Is it the right approach to complete Dawnguard to stop the attacks or is there another way?

Can anyone tell me what mods are essential on xbone? i've googled but im just worried about messing up the game if i use too many at once or something. (console peasant here so i have little understanding of mods)

I don't know about console mods but my advice would be: only use 2 or 3 mods. People who use more than that are able to manage them and tweak the glitches. You don't want to do that: even I don't want to do that.

It is the right approach. If you're on the Dawguard quest and don't have anything more pressing to do, I advise you to conclude it. There are a couple of spots where you can get lost so focus on it entirely. I recommend you pick your approach carefully: either you dive deep and try to complete everything in Dawguard or you decide to go in a straight line and go back to Skyrim asap. EIther way, you're in for a long ride!

Otherwise, there is a trick to avoid Vampire attacks in town. Ever noticed how attacks often happen when you just fast travel in town? Instead, fast travel nearby and walk into town! It is not guaranteed to stop them all but I swear, it will cut 80% of them. Once in a while, you'll get an attack in town when you come out of a building at night but that's pretty much it.

Here's the strategy: make a habit of Fast Traveling to Witherun stable instead of directly into town. Wait outside if it's night time and walk into town at dawn. There's little chance you'll get a random attack then! If your main concern is preserving NPC lives, that's the best way to make it happen. After all....

NPC lives matter!

Is there a downside to stealing if you don't get caught?
As far as i know, no. There isn't a morality/karma system like in Fallout 3. If you don't get caught i don't think there are any consequences but maybe someone can correct me on that.

you may be known as a thief. the guards or random people will mention that if they catch your hand in they pocket blah blah blah but no. as long as you don't get caught then your reputation is solid with practically everyone.

Can you marry Sarana?

I do not believe so but you can try. You would have to complete the entire Dawnguard quests first? if it's not possible there might be a mod to allow it.

Not sure if Dawnguard stops the attacks bro, but there is a mod that will make citizens run indoors during a vampire attack instead of getting their asses killed

The only one that is a must have is the Unofficial Patch.

I've did a few Dawnguard quests and i've only been entering cities during the day, im gonna try to find the mod Zer mentioned. I don't want anyone useful to be killed.

The mods im using atm are

The unoffical patch
Armageddon(155 new spells)
A graphics overhaul mod
Better blood
LOTR weapons

I havent encountered any problems so far

This has to be a glitch, right? Look at the size of this freak. I thought he was a mountain until he turned around.

I swear that thing is connected to a mod.

I just joined the Legion. I hope I didn't fuck up by choosing them over the Stormcloaks.

Also, I just started fucking around with enchanting, though my skill lvl is low.

Are the effects of the enchantments affected by your enchanting lvl? I just destroyed an item to learn a boost carry weight enchantment. I enchanted another pair of boots and noticed that the effects are nowhere near as good as the item I destroyed to learn the recipe.

They're equal to the size of the soul you use.

It's a combination of both: the size of the gem is primordial but the effect will be better the higher your enchant level is. Always remember to craft and drink some potions of fortify enchanting before proceeding. It's not the easiest potion to mix but it's really worth it. All the fortify potions are badass: Fortify smithing / enchanting and Fortify "your favorite attack" are vital to Skyrim.

@WorldofWarcraft Just to add to that, it's always worth destroying an item to learn it's enchantment. Your skill in enchanting will go up and you can enchant mutliple items with the same enchantment to stack the effect. Maybe you've lost 30 carry weight with the boots, but you can probably get ~15 carry weight for another pair of boots, plus a ring and necklace for a total of 45 at a lower level with decent gems. The jewelry has small carry weight, so you can keep the carry weight accessories in your inventory and just equip them when you are close to load capacity. Eventually, your enchantment skill will get higher, so you can craft a new set for higher effects. Plus, carry weight is a fairly rare enchantment that adds more value to an item than other enchantments. Making rings and enchanting them with carry weight and petty gems is a good money maker early in the game and helps build 2 useful crafting skills.

here's an enchanting question...

assuming u have multiple enchanting potions.... there are necklaces and rings that fortify enchantment (I vaguely remember seeing one in my stash). disenchanting one would give you the ability to the ability to add fortify enchantment to items. Could you enchant some gear while under potion effect, wear them and then make some better with improved enchanting stats, repeat the looping process till you max out?... couldn't you do this with smithing too?

I haven't been making any gear or enchanting to much because I know how powerfully broken it can be but I am at the point where I am pretty damn overpowering so there's not point in holding back anymore...
