It's fucking awful, and it's even worse hearing someone try to shower it with praise, like they planned all along for it to be a campy, self aware sci fi spoof. To this day i cant sit through 10 minutes of starship troopers.

It wasn't. They wrote and produced a shit movie, and people saw it while they were still young and thought it was awesome because they had shitty taste, and refuse to realistically re-review it.
Pitt ruined it, imo.Damn. . . Only 54% for Troy. . .
Yeah, that's definitely total bullshit. That's a good film.
T.M.N.T (1990) got 40% somehow.
And how can anyone not like Home Alone?
That's too bad, RoboCop was actually good. And they did subtext much better in that movie than Starship Troopers ever dreamed of.You're totally wrong on that, broseph.
The director was Paul Verhoeven, the same guy who made Robocop. The dude is all about subtext.
I must admit, I agree with the "Spaceballs" rating. I know it's classic and all, but I really don't think its' comedy style or gags have aged particularly well. I see it on TV all the time, and I'm either bored, or cringing at its lame jokes.
I still cannot believe Paul Verhoeven made both Robocop and Starship Troopers. Starship Troopers is an average film at best for me and I don't get its cult status. Just doesn't seem like a film that deserves it. Robocop however is such an amazing film and I love how it uses its ultraviolence to disguise its satire of the american culture. The commercials in the film are pretty funny and the news segments are hilariously unnerving. Not to mention it gave us one of the greatest villains in that of Clarence Boddicker played by the extremely talent Kurtwood Smith. As well Robocop is my all time favorite film. I've seen too many times to count and memorized every line in the filmThat's too bad, RoboCop was actually good. And they did subtext much better in that movie than Starship Troopers ever dreamed of.
TMNT is a brilliant movie in its own right. A good portion of the dialogue was way over the heads of the target audience, and the character development of Raphael and his relationship with his family is better emotionality than anything we see in modern comic book adaptations.T.M.N.T (1990) got 40% somehow.
