Shoyoroll SYR kimonos/gi. Please post your size

As we all know Shoyorolls run big so size down. The sleeves definitely run longer. I wear an A2 any other brand but with Shoyoroll I have to get an A1. If you are an A2 for other brands and buy an A2 Shoyoroll, it will most likely be a bit big for you. Size down and cold wash/ hang dry. Rather a snug fit than a sloppy fit. I've read so many reviews about people who ordered a Shoyoroll in the wrong size and complain later on wishing they had sized down or better yet just complain that Shoyoroll gi's fit horrible. lol

I'd say for an A1 you can be 5'11" 165lb and still get away with it, especially if you order a colored gi since they don't shrink as much as the white. Drying the living crap out of an A2 to shrink it down will only cause the pearl weave to stretch out while rolling.

Bump for question:

I'm thinking about getting this Shoyoroll 3.0, but they only have A3. I'm 6'1" and 205 and wear an A3 Koral MKM which fits me perfect. Is the A4 Shoyoroll going to be too big?

yes a4 would be huge on you, but you said they only have an a3, so whats the deal?

to syr or not syr. i really want one but cant justify it. have enough gis that fit me well. they are all in good shape.

people seem to like them. i would hate to get one though and have the fitting be off. then i would be like why did i waste $ on this.

if i did get one what would you suggest?

6'6" 225lbs
broad shoulders
36" waist

Hi I am trying to get a good idea of what size gi fits what type of body for myself and some buddies. If you have owned a Shoyoroll gi please follow this template:

Height: 5'4"
Weight: 150
Size: A1
Batch: batch 6 white, golden state, yank
Shrink/Cold wash: shrink
Details: they're all a bit roomy at first, and the sleeves and pants are long. i'm short but muscular and broad-shouldered. i may try an a0 in the future, but for now i'm having good luck shrinking them down. they start to fit perfectly by the 5th or 6th wash. the yank pants were significantly longer than either of my others. my batch 6 pants are perfect lengthwise, but overall my least favorite pants to roll in (too slim cut, no flexibility in the ripstop fabric). the yank ripstops are a dream -- very light, soft and a bit more room to move in them. but the length was bad and i knew the ripstop wouldn't shrink so i had them hemmed. in all three, the jackets shrunk up to the perfect length in the sleeves over time, and the torso tightened up significantly. overall, the jackets shrink to an excellent fit. mobile, but not too poofy and loose.

A5? I am guessing because of my height i should get an A5 or else the pants and sleeves will be too short.

Anyone have an A0? Curious about the measurements on it because A1s sleeve length is way too long.

Have ordered an A0 Batch#10 Americana as I found the A1 a bit too big, looking forward to seeing if it fits better.

I'm Bumping this thread in hopes for a long and lanky guy to help me out.

I just got "the count" A3S. I'm 6'3 165 pounds. The pants are just a tad long, i know i can shrink them to fit right. But the sleeves are what concern me. They go down to the second knuckle on my middle finger (hand way down my fingers). You guys think thats too much to try to shrink? I dont know wether to give it a shot or just resell it.

I've emailed the SYR guys and have not heard any response in a few days so figured i would try here. Thanks in advanced

of course it will shrink, im wondering if it will shrink a full 4 inches. thats around where i need it to shrink on the sleeves

I would like to know that as well. And if it stretches out again when rolling.

With 6'1 and 165 lbs I'm never sure if I should go A3S or A2.

Im 6'3 180 I have a yang and an Americana. The Americana (gold weave) fits me perfectly after a hot wash and dry but stretches a lot by the end of training. The yang (pearl weave) i wash on cold and dry on delicate setting and it fits me perfectly with no stretching but i did go through a couple hot cycles to get it to fit. not sure what weave the count is of the top of my head but hope this helps.

what sizes?

I have a Yank in A-0. I'm 5'7, 64 kg. Fits me perfect. I've only washed it in cold water. We don't have A/C at my gym, so my gi gets pretty soaked during practice. There hasn't been any stretching.

I had a Compadre A0 and I'm 5'3" and 145lbs. The fit was too damn tight in the chest and arms. I'd be too afraid it might shrink to the point it would be unwearable if I threw it in the washing machine. A1 is perfect once shrunk down a bit for me.

Height: 6'2"
Weight: 186 lbs
Size: A2
Batch: #10 - Americana
Shrink/Cold wash: Mostly cold wash, occasional warm.
Details: This gi fits me damn well, a little big in the body, but the sleeves are plenty long even at 6'2".

Shoyoroll Gi Size that you wear:
Shoyoroll Batch #/'s you own:
Did you shrink to fit via dryer or just cold wash/air dry out of the bag?
Extra details: (such as skinny/husky/broad shoulders/sleeves are a little too long or short/skirt too short)

I'm 6'0 and also 165 lbs.

I contacted Shoyoroll on Facebook and added that my optimal pants are 102 cm long and the wingspan around 166cm.

They recommended me a A2.
