Imo law inforcement should be only ones that have them.

Assault weapons or semi-auto rifles? I'm ok with the latter, although it would be interesting to see how it changes confrontations with violent criminals. On one hand, a larger gun would be more intimidating but in the other, it would be easier to wrestle a rifle away from a cop than a handgun. As for cops carrying selective fire weapons, that's just more civilian casualties waiting to happen.

Pepper spray does the trick

Big ass wall?

You know I don't think a wall would help, as much as E-verify, as the flood of people across the border makes the border patrols job near impossible, and E-verify would do more to address this than a wall, but when the DNC has plans to build a wall for security for the convention in Philly, and Israel builds walls, the whole 10 foot walls leads to 11 foot ladders, seems like a strange idea to me.

If it doesn't have a real effect, then why do the DNC and Israel do it?

I'd like to see us do what the Israelis do. Their system seems to be working fine for ani-terror

Me thinks you would have an issue with that...they profile like a motherfucker

You do realize they are the EXACT same thing, right?

False.

It is easier to get a handgun away from someone than a rifle.

Additionally, police have access to select fire weapons already.

WOAH!

No dude, I don't realize that semi-auto rifles and assault weapons are the same thing. But by all means, please embarrass yourself further by proving how they are the same exact thing.

Yeah I'm In agreement with this. the hijacked NRAs militant base doesn't want this though.

Hijacked NRAs militant base? I'd think your informed, average Joe would be against losing due process because of some list banning them from the privilege of flying.

How on earth is it easier to get a handgun away? It's smaller, lighter, easier to move away from you or point in your direction at odd angles. A rifle is very large and cumbersome. Less maneuverable and agile. Rifles are obviously mid to long range weapons; not for close quarters for the very reason that it takes longer to swing it around and easier for an enemy to grab a hold of.

This is true. But semi-auto is almost always preferred for countless reasons from accuracy to ammo conservation.

Banning guns won't stop bad guys from obtaining guns, it will only stop good people from having them to protect themselves and their families.

And another point I want to make is that I don't believe its right for the 'Left' to try and ban citizens from having guns but government workers can have them. That is a load of bull and nothing more than a larger power grab to further their power.

Has you ever heard of this thing called a sling?

Also - sorry to bust your bubble but testing has been done extensively. Pistols are much easier to get out of people's hands - especially moreso to be used on their owner than a rifle. I would encourage you to give it a try yourself. I've had to do a lot of training in those scenarios. Rifles are really, really hard to get control of and use against someone.

Seriously?

Do you know what an "assault weapon" is?

I think you are using the term interchangably with "assault rifle" which is not the same thing. But please - explain how I am embarrassing myself.
