I think it's a matter of putting things into perspective and not giving in to the political establishment cashing in on peoples emotions to make power plays.

Well put.

Not familiar. Link or elaboration?

I don't think it would ever work in the U.S. though. Too many people would complain about getting to the airport 3 hours before a flight. Then, we'd have to look at possible civil rights violations.

Oh I thought you meant their policy on private firearms....

Right! No Fly = No buy
But the system would have to have a way to challenge your status. Like for instance if you were put on it and it's a mistake.

It takes our government 5 months to finalize paperwork for NFA tax stamp per individual. You expect them to be able to establish a system to expedite wrongly list citizens off the No Fly list?

Yeah I'm In agreement with this. the hijacked NRAs militant base doesn't want this though.

What is this hijacked NRA militant base? 75% of the NRA are made up of paid memberships.

Also, the only gun control law I support immediately passing is the "One gun a month" law.

I feel like we can cut down on straw purchases and help get rid of some of the gang shootings if we keep these sellers from dumping a bunch of guns on the streets at once. Maybe the cops will be able to confiscate them faster than they buy them.

See, that's where the real problem is, in the inner city where people are killing each other daily. But, people only care about gun control when they see a mass shooting on TV. Ban one type of gun that is used in a very low percentage of gun homicides annually. Makes sense.

Not too sure how a one gun a month law would help stop gang bangers get guns. They tried to pass a crap bill like that in my moonbat liberal state of Massachusetts. That shit was shot down almost immediately. The only thing a One Gun a Month law would do is put most, if not all, FFLs (small businesses) out of business. The majority of firearms used in crimes are stolen from other people in previous crimes. Not attained in straw purchases. Within the metro areas of cities like Chicago and New York and Boston, there are no gun stores anywhere.

Right, well, you don't have to carry a gun. That's your right. I will, as it is my right. We just recently passed open carry in Texas, so we are loosening restrictions, not increasing them.

PS, everyone I know owns firearms, even my grandmother keeps a pistol in her purse. I don't know any 2nd amendmant nutjobs that've ever shot anyone. My 85 year old grandmother is not going to give up her pistol just so you can feel safer.

you and your granny can keep your guns just dont wear them or carry them in public. FFS at least have a law to keep it out in your car

You don't think the NRA went for a more extreme base when they were bleeding money and memberships during the 90s.

Even Bush Sr left because Lapierre was making so many over the top comments about everything. The NRA most certainly went after a more militant milita style base during thst era. IMO it still exists today.

I would suggest that you study history. Unarmed populations are victim populations.

Urban/Guerilla warfare would be a nightmare in the united states. There are millions and millions of guns owned in the US and gun owners would never give them up lightly. While the population is armed, there is hope for freedom and liberty.

maybe if large parts of military took part in the rebellion but otherwise most non military are cowards in this type of situation and highly incompetent at best.

Not going to happen.

"Excuse me Mr. Mugger, will you wait here while I run to my car? I left my gun the in glove box."

Go on somewhere man, you're not even American.

Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say you're neither a firearm owner nor were you brought up in a culture where you were taught to respect and handle firearms in a safe and responsible manner. So I'm guessing you're basically talking out of your ass about something you know nothing about, other than what you see on TV. No surprise, that seems to be a favorite pastime for a large swath of the population.

No fly is stupid.

How about some elevated level(confirmed that they have ties or are a real potential threat) on the terror watch list. I say that because some people have been on the no fly and terror and found to have done absolutely nothing to get on it.
no fly is an easy way to strip people of their rights without due process... no thx

you can say that about any situation and lethal weapon. even nukes.

youre the one that needs to get away from the tv. you are brain washed by straw chewing rednecks who think the constitution meant ar-15 when it said right to bear arms. motherfuckers meant muskets. id have no prob if you were carrying a musket or those old flintlock pistols. i can kick your ass if you miss or at least get away.

maybe if you focused as much on quality law enforcement and good governance, you wouldnt feel the need to go strapped when walking to the damn 7/11

If the 2nd amendmant only applies to muskets then the 1st amendment only applies to quill pens. So get off the internet.

You're not a citizen, so you don't get to decided the laws. And even if you were you'd still be losing.

You probably don't even have a clue what a CHL even is or entails.

You are severely misinformed about the 2nd if you really think that.

People who legally own firearms and open/conceal carry aren't part of the problem when it comes to gun violence, why are you afraid of them?

Because he's some foreigner that watched too many American movies trying to call shots from the sidelines. He doesn't know enough to even have an opinion.

They are already banned, modifying an AR 15 to make it fully automatic is illegal, if I'm not mistaken. The way they are sold in stock do not meet the qualifications of assault rifle, they're only semi automatic.

This is where I always get confused. I've owned an AR before and my brother still does. Only with the Slide Fire stock did this rifle actually feel badass and even then it took a good 5 or 6 clips to really get the hang of controlling bump fire. But vanilla, it's just a light, accurate rifle. I grew bored of it rather quickly and sold it. It's still a really controllable gun and I can see the appeal to gun range perfectionists.

When I think of Assault weapons I think of either selective fire or fully automatic. So the M16, Mac 10, Tek 9, etc, come to mind.
