Should Nate be awarded a title fight?

Maybe a lw title fight. Idk why people keep talking ww the only reason the fight with Connor was at ww was because it was on such short notice. Nate is the #5 ranked lw. Does he deserve a title shot a lw probably not but we all know it doesn't matter who deserves it, it has more to do with who will make the ufc the most money. And right now Nate is a money maker after taking out the ufc's biggest money maker at the time. I wish nick fought more because it would be pretty cool to see Nate vs RDA and nick vs lawler at ufc 200. Throw in Connor vs Edgar, maybe Holme vs rousy 2 $$$$$. But the only one I see probably happening at 200 is Connor vs edgar

Nate just fought twice in a span of a couple months, and made more money than he ever has.

He should park his ass for a while and see if 155 or 170 gets shaken-up. He could step back in to the convo anytime he wants and retain his cache from tooling McGoat.

Champs don't last forever, and he has enough hand to wait and pick a favorable (or at least less dangerous) matchup.

Nope. He would get dominated by RDA again and don't even talk about Robbie. Nate would get dominated by the top guys in that division. Nate v Cowboy 2 or Alverez makes sense.

Title shot? Bwahahahahahahahaba

Answer : Yes, he should be.

Reason : Aside robbie, do you think any of the WW or LW division fighter will takes on the 11 days notice with Conor who was riding on a scary streak including KO Aldo in 13 sec?
No, i guess.

While Dana was pretty pissed off at Jones when he drop the fight with Chael the first time, i guess a reward can encourage more fighters to take the risk in the future.

Well there's alot of unknowns. Is gsp coming back? Does the ufc wana risk condit taking a hiatus if he doesn't get the rematch? The whole rory situation. I'd give it to nate because condit didn't deserve a title fight anyways and think he should have to win 1 more before getting his instant rematch. I basically just hate instant rematches.

That said if gsp comes back he gets it. Also you gotta consider woodley and maia-brown winner. WW is a mess lol.

He's in kind of a weird position. He matches up better against Lawler but would lose the we title soon after winning it if he did. And he doesn't match up well against RDA. Ideally he'd get the conor treatment, beat Lawlerand rthen drop down for a LW title fight after someone beats rda

At 170, no way in hell. He beat a 145er who was planning to fight at 155, not to mention Nate is a 155er. The line at 170 is way too long and Nate hasn't done enough.

At 155, yes yes yes. Conor was going to get a title shot and Nate beat him, what better way to prove the true #1 contender. Nate has essentially 2 wins in a row at 155, his last loss was to the champ, so when RDA comes back throw him in with Nate and lets see how things turn out.

Nate's 1-2 wins away from a title shot at either weight class.

Personally I want to see Nate vs. the winner of Maia/Brown.

Breaking the normal chain of events isn't, well... Normal. Besides, which weight class are you proposing?

Big fight, for sure. Title shot? Reaching.

It's not always a bad move for a fighter to pass on a fight. I'd rather wait to see two professionals completely ready for each other. Case in point: Cormier vs Jones 2 is going to be a barn burner.

Why not?
But i would enjoy much more a LW match against connie
If Nate repeat the show what would be the argument the macnuggets would use this time?

God no.

Give him a top 5er and then see how he goes.

He is good but not that level.

Also I dislike Jones but I hate the Jones comparison re late notice even more,
Risking your belt on late notice is done by Tj and TJ alone, accepting a late replacement without a title on the line is literally a weekly event.

I agree

Would make sense from a UFC business perspective to keep the publicity going and put him up against RDA or Lawler. Hopefully RDA because Lawler dominates that fight 9.5 times out of 10.

From an MMA perspective he absolutely doesn't deserve it. LW and WW probably have the most stacked pools of talent and beating a FW fighter at WW shouldn't jump him to the head of the queue

At what weight division?

At 170? Because he just beat an unranked fighter in the division?

At 155? Because he has one win in over a year against just one top ten fighter in the division?

At 145? Because he just beat the 145 champ, but at the 170 division, while Nate himself likely can't make the 145 weight?

Khabib/Ferg for TS, Nate vs whoever and then Nate needs to win 1 more for TS.

I hope yes, so he gets his ass kicked again like the mediocre fighter that he is.

For that Anderson silva money and PPV buys he should be given the title fight at lw, RDA needs to fight a draw like Diaz to pull numbers. He doesn't deserve the lw shot as much as khabib/furg winner but Diaz does the best numbers for a RDA fight now that Conor is off the table for now. As for WW no but I wouldn't complain at a Diaz vs Robbie fight.
