Hot Take Should LHW and HW just be combined?

Kinda but no

Maybe a cruiser weight division could be added at like 225-240 and anyone larger than that could be heavyweight

It would force the smaller Heavuweights to make a decision, get in shape and move down a class which would make the CW Class entertaining with in shape guys, while then HW 240 and up would be big ass dudes-also take the 265 cap off of heavyweight there’s no reason to it other than a SHW class

It might ruin the division….but this division is already ruined.

HW title fights just needs to be moved to where flyweight title fights, and women title fights used to be. Strictly co main at it's highest. And relegate non title fights to early main card, or prelims at most. As shit as the division is, i'm not ready to call it quits. In fact this talent vacuum could end up enticing young rising athletes if they see there's an avenue to rise to the top fast. So i'm willing to keep it around, just book it at a much lower station to see if It can fill back out at all.

you don't need to eat junk food just a surplus of calories. as evident by their BMIs.

so yes, in that aspect I am 100% more disciplined.
Try being + 40-50 pounds lean. The higher the weight the harder it is being lean.

They are pro athletes. Likely all of them train harder than you.

No again cause there already is a shortage of HW and LHWs so a 3rd division is too much.

Honestly not a bad idea. I'd rather have Super Lightweight than 205 pounds. There's too much talent at 155 pounds and always has been.

125 flyweight
135 bantamweight
145 featherweight
155 lightweight
165 super lightweight
180 welterweight
195 middleweight
HW no weight limit

nah, the size difference is real.

imagine brock lesnar or francis versus an in-betweener HW who probably belongs at LHW. wouldn't be a good look. some guys at LHW are able to move up because their frame supports it, but most can't.

We don't have to imagine, Couture had balls big enough to be the guy to do it:

Couture was really about 5'11"

i was rooting for randy so bad there, but it kind of proves my point. despite being such a beginner brock was out muscling randy and putting him against the fence for most of the first. the tides started to turn near the end of the round but it made no difference. apparently, all that big dumb ape needed was to throw a random haymaker and it was enough to finish. followed by his best impression of donkey kong with that ground and pound.

these days they're all well rounded and the size difference would make it be even worse.

No. There's a huge difference between 195 lbs and 265 lbs.

randy was the champion, he didn't have much of a choice. also, he made a ton of money from that fight. hardly a yolo fight.

Tbf, Randy was 45 there, although I would still give the edge to Brock even against a younger Couture.

Present day UFC HW does not have any Brock Lesnar level fighter now. They don't even have a Francis Ngannou, despite him being available to sign soon.

In boxing, the undisputed hw champion right now, is famous for beating opponents who outweigh him by 30+ pounds. MMA is not 1 to 1 with boxing in terms of how weight translates to impact, but a highly skilled guy fighting in the 220 range is absolutely viable in today's HW.

I would legitimately take Jiri over the vast majority of anyone at heavyweight right now.
