Should Islam Makhachev get the next title shot?

Rooting for Justin or Charles if they face him next but I expect Islam to win.

No one can solve these guys' grappling. I don't think the LW division has the explosive wrestlers to handle it.

If rankings are credible, then Islam is ranked #4 (and will be #2 or #3 when updated today or tomorroe)...and based on that he deserves a TS

If Islam's rank isn't right (meaning rankings are not credible), then your argument of "the highest ranking guy he beat was Dan Hooker" is senseless because u already claimed to believe the ranking system itself is invalid.

Or
A guy with barely one top 10 win.
In any other division these dudes wouldn't be near shit lol

Islam may have a 10 fight win streak, but has he even beaten a top 10 guy yet? To me, he has to beat somebody in the top 5 before he fights for the belt. I'm sure he will fight for the belt sometime soon though, just not yet.

He no doubt deserves it, 10 fight win streak, Dariush pulled out and Islam took a fight with high risk low reward, apparently Dana has stated Islam gets the next shot, hope he doesn't lie and it better have been in contract that Islam gets it, we all know he's the next champ anyways

How can her earn by not fighting anyone within the top 5?

And please take into account the following: So what you are telling me is that if you beat 10-15 scrubs in great fashion, you don't have to beat any top 10?

Note: look, I know it is not his fault. Fighters got injured and all. But at the end of the day, you can't be so blind as to allow someone with no top 10 victories (other than last minute replacement) to leapfrog all other top 10 fighters!

Besides, if he is not the very next, that means he has time for one more fight!!!
Push the UFC to set it up instead of sitting back and waiting for his turn!

No, he has only had one top ten fight and that was Hooker coming in on no notice. Even his fight with Green was on no notice. If he had beaten Dariush the way he beat Green I would say he should get a shot right away. As it stands, I think they should set up the fight with Beniel again.

The same people who called bs when conor got a titleshot are now cheerleading islam's (possible) shot at the title. Don't get me wrong, I like his style and think he's a real problem for anyone in the top5. Think, because I havnt seen him in action against a serious fellow so I cant really judge that correctly.

For example : Khamzat is now fighting Burns, who is a real contenter and if he beats him yes a title shot should be justified

On kind of a side note if I were Charles I would say that I was hurt (he probably is in one shape or form , all these guys are ) get some physical maintenance and take the family on vacation.
Beating one of these guys is going to be hard but what are the odds you get past both of them ? Let these 2 animals tear each other apart for an interim title then fight the winner .

I honestly don't care for the guy, not a fan. He's also being very lucky lately with his pairings.
The truth is that after Gaethje, there are no other viable challengers since the upper echelon of the LW rankings is being hijacked by guys who barely ever fight but are still somehow lurking as contenders, so, if he is to get the shot instead of Conor or someone like that, then sure, why not?

Even if his competition hasn't been stellar, he's essentially run through everyone he's faced.
I mean who else is there to challenge; unless the Gaethje fight is super close, or ends in a fluke.

From a historical perspective he doesn’t have the top wins to warrant a TS, but honestly there isn’t anyone else who actually does, besides Dariush. Obviously you don’t reward pulling out of a title eliminator fight with a TS, Makachev won said fight against the short notice opponent, so by default the TS should go to Islam.
