The thing is Islam already deserved title shot after Dan Hooker but Dana insisted another fight and teamkhabib said ok.

Then Dariush injured and they still wanted to fight but UFC and Dana couldn't find a top ranked opponent yet Islam still accepted the fight by telling him ''he will get a title shot if he finishes Green early in the first rounds''. And he did. Its not Islam's fault every ranked opponent is scared of him and they couldn't find a ranked opponent.

So he did everything they asked him to do he definitely deserves the next title fight and even against Oliveira betting odds says Islam is a huge favorite, they shouldn't hold up the division with BS fights, Islam is favorite over any LW in the world and any other fight before Islam fighting for the LW title is just delaying and derailing the LW division.

the lw division is once again stalled out.

it is a sad state when islam who beat last minute hooker who isnt even competing at 155 anymore
and booby green is the most active and most deserving of a title shot.

he deserves it but not more than beneil, we really should see them fight.

charles and justin haven't even fought yet and the vegas odds are out that charles is the underdog for the islam fight
maybe rightfully so. but shit, shouldn't we wait to see who wins and then maybe give the champ a breather?

but fight a worthy contender already. earn that shit

He beat a washed Cerrone, beat James Vick who isn't even in MMA anymore, beat Barboza (solid win), and beat the ghost of Tony Ferguson (great name but Tony was showing signs of decline long before). That was Gaethje's path to the top. Highly overrated resume imo.

i totally agree. not sure why everyone gets all defensive. but they do.

what ever happened to number 1 contender matches?

sure islam/dariush was one. but to just give it to the guy who wasn't injured by default?

why cant they run it back when everyone is healthy?

olives already has a fight set for the summer. if he takes a year off between fights like khabib did
theres plenty of time for a contender match.
