Should i join the Canadian army ?

Canadian army? Isn't that like Cub Scouts?

the military is always the best decision when you have absolutely nothing else going for you.

This is the absolute truth. I joined the USMC after dropping out of college and practically being kicked out of my house.

At best, you will get discipline and direction. At worst you will have a few years with food and a roof over your head in exchange for work.

Don't they have any sort of education and experience requirements?

Edit: Never mind. I looked it up myself. Shocking.

To apply for a job as a Regular Member of the RCMP, you must meet the following basic requirements:
•Be a Canadian citizen;
•Be of good character;
•Be proficient in English or French;
•Have a Canadian secondary school (high school) diploma or equivalent;
•Possess a valid, unrestricted Canadian driver's licence;
•Be at least 19 years of age at the time of engagement (may apply at 18 years of age);
•Meet medical/health standards;
•Be willing to relocate anywhere in Canada; and
•Be physically fit.

Go for it then. Why not?

I heard that they can be really picky when it comes to your past even if it's clean. That they'll even go to your neighbors, and ask about your "character".

I had one friend that eventually joined, and a year later quit. It was all about handing out the days quota of traffic violations.
