I forgot to mention this too - he made this for me

he made so much stuff - for everyone

legit crying eh

saint-clippy.jpg

Fogive me but I'm still mining through the memories - finding all sorts of wacky stuff

one of my random stony beach walks, he tool my video and put bigfoot innit lol

subtle, random, hilarious - what a joyful person - keeps gettging harder

hey guys, I finally have a chance to contribute to this thread - but I want to go on a lengthy post here

Let me start with my shoop I made, it's not much but it's in the spirit of things

effe.png

**** @Arqueto made JAwa Arq thing i just soved it in thats what she said

yeah I was never this great at this stuff but I always thought of @bigwaverider as like Obi Wan Kenobi, a caring teacher devoting his life to how work and helping others learn the ways, like clearly his best student @Arqueto - man that opening post wave shoop is touching and I can imagine it must have been roughh to spend what appears to be HOURS making it eh

~~~
So I felt inspired to look through my own private convos with BWR and found all kinds of gems here, sharing his work feels like a better contribution to this thread than my own crap
hold on I got a lot of things to explain
Whenever we would talk about anything he would turn it into a shoop, he always surprised me with random replies like this
8S9e73j.gif
haha look at that how cool is that
Because BWR likes to shoop with ppl avatars, I would of course have an annoying one that requires the middle be cut out. What a pain this must be to work with, but didn't stop him from making stuff like this:
YUMKjKg.gif
lol now because me and @Myrddin Wild got into some healthy Star Wars debates, he contributed these things as well
ii2MpOG.gif
I would like to think those previous things with @Myrddin Wild are water under the bridge - we sure did get carried away eh - life too short
so he made this too
after.gif
How perfect is the above? Well not perfect enough for our perfectionist @bigwaverider who wrote me back shortly after saying it needed to be better <30>
so he made this next one later, see the difference? I think you need super artist eyes:
These are just fucking fantasic man
Here is a few random ones lol:
This is private conversation shit, but regardless always went out of his way to put a smile on his face with artwork
One time the forums were broken and I asked him what happened and he said he missed it and work up like this lol
anywho - yeah I lack confidense and focus and probably have ADD and Im lazy and shit - but he would always inspire me - he told me I can soar as high as I want and made this for me lol
And when I was sick I would get surprise greeting cards, like this
What a spectacular human being man - completely selfless and cared for evveryone man - like I can't say enogh about how special and amazing this person was
I made a crappy shoop and he immediately gave me a tutorial on how to do it better, plus a few more unsolicited tuts for things - all just for me - this is just private messages - I will leave you with these vids - but it goes to show how much joy he had in these things and teaching ppl stuff - we are all better for this stuff
And I will miss him dearly
Haha, nice shoop buddy. Man, I love Jawas. Great post too, shows Mike's amazing attention to detail and the time he would take to help anybody. His art is just so freakin good man.
You set me off again too.
The Last Surf GIF I made was hard to make man, not just because the slow-mo video makes every little off movement stand out but because it was so emotional for me, when I saw the video I knew I had to use it as it looks like he's saying goodbye and waving while riding a big wave.
like what I shared is just the top of the pile man - it's endless
I sent myself off too - nothing more sad than reading through message history and realizing how special this guy was, to all of of us - think of all the lives he touched and all the smiles he put on ppls faces
That Last Surf gif is THE pinnacle gif of all of this - I can't express enough how amazing and touching this tribute is - it is absolutely stunning - thanks for powering through to make this - you made him proud bud
i don't know how to shoop... but i pay my respect to the great BWR
blessings brother, rest in peace
The thing that saddens me by this post is you know BWR would be in this man's DMs helping and explaining.
I don't know if it was bret hart that said it first but it's the first thing that comes to mind with BWR and his shoops.
The best there is
The best there was
The best there ever will be.
Fantastic!
You're a natural bro... nice blending & color matching. Is this your first use of a graphic arts programs? or just your first shoop? Looks like you got some skillz. :cool:
I appreciate the compliment. I was struggling with the hairline and shadowing for almost an hour and gave up... just used the patch tool and a feathered eraser to give it a little blending.
It's been about 15 years since I used photoshop for much. But back in my 20's I was doing sports photography for the student paper at my college and did post processing in LR. Nothing like shoops. Mostly just presets in LR for the different light conditions--it was checkerboard out there at night from the stadium lights so I had about 6 filters to cover daytime, dusk, and the light/dark spots on the field under the lights. It was a quick and dirty process to beat publishing deadlines.
I'm watching BWR's after effects videos and gonna try my hand next weekend when I get a little more time at something animated. He's literally been teaching me how to shoop the last few days.
