I actually really enjoyed AC 1-3. I could see myself replaying those because I thought the outside story and in game story were fantastic. It's a shame they pretty much ruined all of that.

I've still never actually seen a Neo Geo in person.

SEGA Neptune? Never even heard of the thing. Grew up with Mega Drive, too. Console chassis looks like a vacuum, hehe.

World record 420,000,000 Mbps internet speed was hit in Japan

It’s fast enough to download Baldur’s Gate 3 in under 4 milliseconds

Oof. We all kind of called this but I'd expressly mentioned every few months here how bigly Exoprimal missed any kind of milestones to show life. Capcom will be fine as they're absolutely crushing it right now but this title proved a hard pass in the gamerverse:

Capcom is ending Exoprimal content updates, one year after its launch

Embracer closes Elex developer Piranha Bytes:

Embracer owned Piranha Bytes, the creators behind RPG franchises like Gothic, Risen and Elex, has seemingly been closed down after 27 years

The Creative Director and his wife have already opened a new studio

The plan is to create "unique and immersive indie games" with a focus on dark action adventures including in-depth stories, horror and role-playing elements.

The game made no sense to me. The PVE stuff feels unfinished. You just go from box to box in bland, sterile environments and every match feels exactly the same. The PVP feels like it was just grafted on from a completely different game. The craziest thing is how they took a game about using a mechsuit to slaughter hundreds of dinosaurs, and they found a way to make that boring.
I think they should have just ditched the PVP and made it Dynasty Warriors with dinos.

Xbox Game Pass is getting a services and pricing update. Full read on update here from Windows Central.

Here's what you need to know:

  • Soon, Xbox Game Pass for Console will be shuttered for new users only.
  • Users currently on Xbox Game Pass for Console will be allowed to maintain their subscription, as well as day one games, and the hundreds of titles in the back catalogue.
–––
  • New users on Xbox Game Pass in the near future will be greeted by a new Xbox Game Pass "Standard." This is more like EA Access, which includes Xbox's back catalogue, and doesn't include day one games. This will be priced at $14.99 per month, and will also include Xbox Live Gold for multiplayer (now known as Game Pass Core, confusingly). It doesn't include Xbox Cloud gaming. Game Pass Standard is supposedly launching in September.
  • From September 12, 2024, Microsoft will only allow users to stack Xbox Game Pass for Console users for up to 13 months, using pre-paid cards and the like, which will continue to function. If you have more than 13 months stacked already, you won't be impacted.
–––
  • Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will not be changed, but it will get a price increase. It will still include PC Game Pass, day one games, and hundreds of back catalogue titles, as well as cloud gaming. But, it is getting a price increase. The new price will be $19.99 per month.
  • PC Game Pass is also getting a price increase, from $9.99 per month to $11.99.
  • PC Game Pass will also continue to get day one games.
–––
  • Xbox Game Pass Core (Xbox Live Gold multiplayer) gets an annual price increase to $74.99 from $59.99, but it will remain $9.99 per month.
  • The price increases are global. You can view the new prices for your region here.
  • For users with recurring billing, the new prices will take effect on September 12, 2024, giving you time to cancel if you don't fancy it.

Who could have seen this coming outside of the most diehard corporate stans?

'240' seems common in response to the news, which is the new yearly price of 20 USD monthly; no doubt to player dissatisfaction.

Palworld developers have partnered with Sony:

Its not SIE though, its the Sony Music / Aniplex sections. Funnily enough even though its Sony Companies and who also make games they don't release stuff on PlayStation, Switch / Mobile stuff usually

Someone needs to smack the Razer developers over the head. Theyre basically standardizing cheat macros for their users now:

New F2P competitive FPS incoming – FragPunk. Boasts unique card draw system. Apex and other pros got a recent hands-on, testing it out. Stamped for some quick-see action:

Disney were the victims of a data hack via Slack, (1.1tb of data taken).

Part of the info that was stolen was stuff to do with Disney's partnership with Epic for Fortnite and information on a Aliens Fireteam Elite Sequel
