This is getting so bizarre. I love how none of these outlets thinks she acted unprofessionally. How lost is the left to hold that pathetic tantrum up as something to be admired?

If she ever gets busted for doping, I can't wait to read the Liberal spin on that shit.

Similar thing with Harris/Booker in the Kavanaugh hearings. Temper tantrums are being glorified.

Cool, Serena should do that, but she hasn't, and she's in control of hiring or retaining him, not him her, so the buck stops with her. Scapegoating the coach is bullshit. He didn't throw that tantrum, and the ref was right. Serena owes him an apology, and she should fire the coach.

Don't worry. She'll throw him under the bus if the smart play comes to that. In the meantime, I wouldn't expect it unless there is a bigger backlash against her, because firing him would shift the attention to him, and off the victim narrative.

I get that, though. They're politicians looking to hurt the opposition with their antics. That's par for the course.

This is some spoiled brat athlete who was desperately looking for excuses to blame her loss on, acting like a 12 year old on the court, and I have not seen anyone in the news media, and even sports news media comment on what a ass she was being. She's being held up as some hero for throwing a tantrum because she was losing. It's fucking pathetic. It's pathetic that anyone outside of the sports media is even covering it in such a way. It's a whining athlete who didn't like some calls. Whoa, big scoop! Strong black woman stands up to her oppressors!

Just checking this story more thoroughly.

At least to me and most sports commentators I've heard, Williams' behavior was outrageous, she brought it on herself, her coach broke the rules.

AfaIct there's nothing here about race or sex.

The media outlets are afraid to criticize a black woman's behavior. They are afraid what will happen to their journalism career if they do.

Black woman are high on the victim status rankings. They can say and do about anything they want with little repercussion. Also, their victim status is so high, their voice should be heard the loudest. That is the era we are in.

Notice Serena told the umpire that he'd never have a job working her tournaments again? She may make sure his career in big tournaments is over for penalizing her tantrums.

Such a shameful ending to such a glorious career. I've been following her progress since she began her first steps to fame.

Your view on the left in this issue is facile. Just because the news media portrays a narrative, this does not mean people "on the left" are a monolith, and think she deserves anything but pity on the level of a three year old shitting their pants.

I would consider myself more liberal leaning, and I find her to be a selfish, arrogant and rude ped cheater who is also a complete hypocrite who betrays the idea of sport quite well.

She is not the only one, just a particularly dickish example.

Sure, but the media is forming this narrative for the left. It's directed at the left, because they will be the ones to ultimately have their bias confirmed by a story like this.

You don't need to point out that not every single one of you feel the way the media does. All I'm saying is that this is a typical left wing issue. The left are the ones that are gonna give this narrative the time of day. Maybe not you, and some others, but it's definitely aimed at, and to be approved by your tribe.

Cool that you don't agree with them, but let's not pretend that this isn't for all intents and purposes, Liberal bullshit.
