New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez (Democrat) has been indicted on corruption charges.

Menendez is accused of receiving services and bribes from a Florida doctor in exchange for working on behalf of the doctor to extract a favorable ruling by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare on the Florida doctor's medicare billing dispute.

The FBI is also investigating whether Menendez used his office to aid the Florida doctor's business interests in the Dominican Republic.

Earlier this week Ted Cruz (R) said the corruption investigation was politically motivated by the WH because of Menendez's position on WH's Iran policy.

Look at Breitbart comments; You would think the right would support indicting a Dem Senator but they think this is the Obama admin getting payback on Menendez for not supporting WH foreign policy on Iran and Cuba.

And here is USnews saying Menendez must resign because the probe is derailing attempts to derail Obama's Iran talks. USnews implies the DOJ going after Menendez is due to his stance on Iran.

Good riddance. But he's going to stick around until convicted which is a shame as he's ranking member of Senate Foreign Relations Committee. I wonder if Christie will name himself as interim Senator once Menendez is convicted and resigns.

This has been being investigated for years now, and came out before his last re-election campaign as well. Funny thing is that if he wasn't indicted the same people would claim Obama was protecting Dem Senator from being convicted.

Yup. There are plenty of good folks on the Republican side, and plenty of good folks on the Democrat side. Likewise both have scumbags doing favours for their mates or anyone who pays them.

It would amaze me if it were true that there are people who believe that. I bet even TCK would acknowledge that there are corrupt Republicans, and everyone would acknowledge that there are corrupt Democrats (like Menendez).

I guess in Cruz's mind Menendez's being a fellow Cuban one-percenter takes precedence over his being a scumbag. And a democrat.
 
Even when it is a democrat indicted for corruption, the GOP still manages to walk away looking dumb.

To be honest it is possible. A lot of things are possible

It's not that crazy of a theory. Obama is not exactly a beacon of what a moral man is and by definition neither is any president or truly great leader or person of power (in history). Those who sit behind true change are masters in the dark arts!

With that said Obama's actions and foreign policy is clearly better, more cautious and pro American than the traitorous GOP which seeks to cater solely to the rich and to Israel!
