To be honest it is possible. A lot of things are possible

It's not that crazy of a theory. Obama is not exactly a beacon of what a moral man is and by definition neither is any president or truly great leader or person of power (in history). Those who sit behind true change are masters in the dark arts!

I think a corrupt POS deserves to be trashed regardless of his party affiliation. But there does seem to be a different in approach here (between the hackish, "he's our guy and we have to defend him no matter what" that we see from people like TCK and Second Sight and the "if he's corrupt, he's not really our guy so fuck him" that we see from people who are not raging hacks). I think it comes from the bunker mentality pushed by the right-wing media (people will reflexively bring up MSNBC, but really, there is no equivalent left-wing media complex). That same attitude is leading right-wingers to be a little confused about why Menendez is being trashed and resolving that by thinking there must be some other reason that "normally liberal" people aren't backing him.
