I know we tend to look back at the greats with rose covered glasses, but some of GSP’s fight were just a different type of boring dude. At least Georges could choose efficiently to grapple or strike, but I remember multiple times having fight parties trying to tell people how good he was for him just to double leg and stay on top in guard the whole fight. Georges could manage to have a boring fight with anyone. His highlight reel is double legs and KO’s before he was champ.
Damn it sounds like I’m hating hard but…the Bisping fight is one of GSP’s most watchable fights, as is the Hendricks fight. Would have loved to see him fight Robbie. Condit kicked him in the head and then got controlled like the rest.

It almost seemed like Dana didn’t like George’s sometimes just because of how domineering he was on there.

All his contenders either aren’t up to the task of defeating him, or will have to come from another weight class.

Crazy part is George had to clear out the division himself while Khamzat grabs the belt and fights every 2 years while the title contenders essentially kill eachother off

Dricus is going to beat all of these dudes again and likely be interim champ or something, maybe Islam moves up if successful against Jack (doubt it horrible match up for Islam it’s basically the Porier fight against a more technical striker who is also bigger and stronger with great counter grappling)
But yeah Khamzhot might never have to fight

With no fight announcement, it's pretty evident he's ending 2025 fighting only once in the year. Despite not suffering from any known injury and taking almost no damage in his last fight.

He's about as inactive a fighter as it gets and that will always keep him from being seen among the all time greats.

He just looks worse and worse as guys like Merab are showing how activity is the best way to get yourself up the GOAT rankings.
