Seeing Calvin Kattar and Edmen Shahbazyan in 2025 feel weird to me.

I remember very well when Shahbazyan was seeing at that future MW all-star and prospect to watch...to only fail hard.

Same for Kattar, used to be a top of the crop back in 2019-2020.

How time pass that fast...

If Tapology is to be believed, Shahbazyan vs Budka is on the main portion of the card this Saturday.

I mean, that should be a curtain jerker even at the Apex, that's a poor fight.

there is over 200 guys in the ufc who have been there longer....

Katar took too much damage in his fight against Holoway, it changed his career
Shahbazyan seems to be in a loser leaves the UFC fight

I said at the time it was really poor from the New England Cartel guys to keep sending him out round after round. I've kinda held it against them since. They really forced him to take a massive beating in that fight.

It was sad to watch.

Only other beating that bad was Valesquez vs Dos Santos. Literally changed them forever

I was pretty high on Shahbazyan, but he has no real future in the UFC. He's only beaten cans, and loses to any solid fighter.

Despite the losing streak, Kattar has one of the toughest strength of schedules in the entire UFC. Kattar has literally fought nothing but good, great, and world class fighters his entire UFC career.

Did he suck? He dominated the first round as usual, then folded as usual.

I'm not sure there's ever been a bigger glass cannon in UFC history than Edmen.

Not really a glass cannon, he just doesn't have cardio. He looked visibly gassed after 1.5 rounds.

He made a good move ditching Edmond for Xtreme Couture but he has no future in the UFC if he can't fix his cardio issues.

GM3 is also a weird fight to get. . . . you totally should win it, but the guy comes-from-behind very regularly.

Even for an Edmen on a 2-5 skid, his fight this weekend should be an easy lay-up for him.

Kattar fought the toughest guys in the division and couldn't get it done. Nothing wrong with that, not everybody gets to be champ.

Edmen fed to the wolves too early. imho They are feeding him another can so there is hope he can win but I'm not so sure he can fix the cardio issues and he lacks a bit of heart. imho

Kattar just needs a little luck on his side had the freak injury so that fight doesn't really count and lost a close split decision and one UD so he is really only on a two fight skid and he's not out there getting starched. I think he wins this one..

Edmen is 27

Aside from GM3 hes lost to top competition.

Yes he did suck in GM3 fight and yes it was his last one.
Gerald has the most subs in MW history how is he not top comp or at the very least a very dangerous threat?

Dangerous without a doubt. But the thing is GM3 would lose to everyone that beat Edmen so I think he is step below those guys. GM3 doesnt generally beat top competition himself.

You could say same about someone like prime Paul Craig with the exception that Paul has beaten top competition.
