I've worked there, stayed there and having lived in Georgia, Atlanta is the place to be.

I've also been throughout Atlanta at all hours -- officially escorting foreign visitors and getting along with everyone; especially at restaurants, clubs, sketchy bars, gentrified neighborhoods, nice hotels, etc.

I've also biked (my bikeshop was downtown) through many neighborhoods as well -- "don't start no crap, won't be no crap" works most of the time.

The metropolitan area is diverse but Atlanta has civil rights history and a notably large afro-American presence.

If you're working Security in Atlanta -- a black dude in a hoody rolling up with his crew to any venue isn't a free pass.

Security man did his job -- calmly.
