The point of the debates is to give the candidates a chance to make their case to the public. Trump was widely perceived to have humiliated himself in the first one, and his polling numbers went down so of course he doesn't want another one, especially in a format that he's likely to do much worse in.

I still think it's entirely fair given how many have tested positive around him with cases still popping, we're past two and maybe up to three dozen cases related to the Trump adminstration now. Given how careless his team has been and his family breaking protocol by not wearing masks in the last debate, I think it's more than fair to have this one virtually.

There's precedent for this with Nixon and JFK doing it in two different locations back in 1960. If the problem is Biden will be aided, it sounds like you guys are going to say that whether it's in person or virtual. There are few things in life more important than our Democratic process. The debate should happen in person. If they have to take a bunch of extra safety precautions, so be it. If stores, restaurants, bars, schools, etc... all can be open, with employees and patrons interacting constantly, in close distance, we should be able to pull off a socially-distanced debate. Moving it to virtual only was just meant to be a cheap political stunt, and its weakening the country in the process.
