Media Sean Strickland thinks Izzy is "not that good".

The person conducting the interview should have asked him who he thinks is good then
 
Strickland striking defense is too advanced for a lot of MMA fighters. Too bad he does not do much damage when striking but he does not really get hit either.

DDP needs to do a boxing camp where they teach shell defense.
 
Well he defeated Izzy easily. Izzy defended the title several times though. Theres just always better ones that come up every now and then. Keeping the top position is the hardest when age chases.

Ddp "beat" Strickland. I still don't see how anyone watches that fight and says yeah DDP won that. It's clear as day the political cog made that decision.

Strickland dog walked Izzy and DDP got lucky. N big deal. They're running it back and Strickland gonna be two x champ
 
I mean we all saw their fight and while Izzy is undoubtably a talented athlete when it comes to Sean's steadily plodding pressure style he isn't wrong.
Izzy is clearly at his best when he's doing the pushing.

Seas was scared of Izzy and Costa even while easily winning rounds. That is not what an octagonal cage warrior does.

Izzy looked bad against Kelvin. After 4 rounds Kelvin did more damage and then completely gassed, as he always does.
Back on TUF Whitaker ran laps around Kelvin in the challenge. He has no cardio.
Since then Gastelum actually got worse.

Izzy also looked bad in a no show fight against Romero and lost that "fight" in my opinion.

At championship level he actually is a bit 50:50 with some luck

Izzy won the 2nd round and the 3rd was close.
Sean mauled and schooled him for 15 minutes, to be fair :)
 
Nah, Sean is full of it on that. Izzy was running shit for a while there. He racked up a nice run. He's one of the best ever at MW, behind Anderson.
 
I want to defend Izzy and say styles make fights.. but Sean completely destroyed Izzy like he was a top 15 fighter. So it's hard Izzy had a close fight with ddp pretty sure ddps was in the lead on points and ddp ended up finishing him.

Sean did well vs ddp and looked like he was winning and lost a decision.

Sean beat Costa but I remember that fight being a snooze fest decision

Sean's fighting style is usually super lame and looks like he's sparring but for some reason he was real offensive with Izzy.

Id like to see Sean rematch ddp
Izzyy managed to hold that belt and get top wins for a while.

Sean has somany decision wins you'd think he was belal Muhammad
