Say what you want about Colby pressing charges, assault and words are too entirely different things and he was well within his right to take Masvidal to court for what he did.

Colby had an absolute meltdown on set when Usman just kept repeating “I broke your face” to him. So no I wouldn’t even put him in that category. His trashtalk is just so bad most fighters don’t feel the need to fire back.

Colby was well within his rights to call the cops on Masvidal. Masvidal ran up on him from behind with a mask on and sucker punched him with a group of friends backing him up. That’s assault.

Fully agreed. But I can't respect a fighter who says fighting words to another fighter and then calls cops when sucker punched any more than I can respect a mobster who agrees to go to his grave telling no secrets, and then flips when he gets pinched.

Both cases fall under "you made your bed so lie in it" to me.

But you're 100% correct that Colby was within his legal right to call the cops on Jorge and Jorge was not within his legal rights to sucker punch Colby.

We fully agree on that.

My point was only that as much as I can't say I have a ton of respect for Jorge, I certainly have more for him, even after sucker punching Colby, than I can for Colby. That's all I meant.

Colby is like a legally justified cockroach to me, I guess.

At least Sean is entertaining and has a good voice and needed intensity for his little promos.
I still maintain the opinion that Colby is not a natural talker and got his popularity from people overrating his talent to heel persona ratio. I would guess people wanted to see him as someone who says whatever the fuck he wants to say and people cant do anything about it. Even if it isnt smart or really even entertaining. Im very intrigued if people will main interest in him if he starts to lose more fights.

The thing that kills me is the "people can't do anything about it" is because after he insults your father, wife, or children, he'll call the cops on you if you attack him!

I just cannot wrap my head around that aspect of his schtick. I cannot accept it as a schtick. A schtick is an act. Calling the cops and pressing charges is very real. That's no longer his schtick. It's when his schtick has rolled over into his real life personality of a lowlife opportunist with no regards for the effects of his supposed trolling on other ppl's family lives.

And the constant threat of the police. What kind of schtick is that? Rat Colby the Talker?? Smh. It's just pathetic, lol.
