This question has defeated so many people in this thread. They dodge the question like the plague because they know it defeats their claim.

i doubt his star appeal as well. i think it’s a case of some advisors seeing his marketing potential and ufc pushing him up front, hoping that the star power follows.

He has tons of fans. Tons of haters. Tons of social media followers. Can headline cards. Knocks people out.

If he's not a star then who is? OP was so worried about admitting O'Malley is a star that he voiced the opinion that there's no stars in the UFC right now, and you have to reach Conor level to be a star. Which is ridiculous of course.

But curious your opinion.

How the hell is Strickland real? He’s the fakest person in the UFC. He doesn’t even remember which gimmick he’s doing.
Example:
-Strickland said the new generation are soft and need to be beat more from their parents.
Then DDP brings up Strickland’s childhood of abuse, which makes Strickland cry. He even backtracks and says kids shouldn’t be abused lol. And ppl shouldn’t bring personal things like that up. I guess he forgot all the personal things he brings up all the time.

-Strickland talked shit about electric cars and said only Beta males and women drives EVs. Then he buys a EV car

-Strickland talked shit about Dave Portnoy and how men should have kids not dogs. Then a year later, he gets a dog and treats it like his kid LOL.

He’s the opposite of Real. He’s fake as hell and clearly mentally challenged.

the numbers i’ve heard thrown around don’t really suggest he’s at that level. that is, people aren’t paying to watch him like they do some other high profile fighters. i think perhaps he could be a star, if he keeps winning, and doing so in viral fashion. but at the moment it seems like his social media skills aren’t quite translating into drawing power.

but even with social media, he’s kinda pedestrian. if you recall prime conor, pretty much every time he opened his mouth was a viral moment. sean doesn’t have that energy tbh. he’s a fun fighter, but there’s a lot more to stardom than that.

Yeah but there’s so much illegal streaming that unless you have those numbers it’s hard to tell.

Like I don’t consider him not a star if people don’t pay to watch. If they’re watching they’re watching.

And you’re comparing to Conor who is an outlier. He’s by far the biggest star ever. I don’t think it makes sense to have him be your baseline for social media or being a star. Hence why I asked you who’s the stars right now.

Or maybe you’re like OP who instead of admitting O’Malley is a star he just said there’s no stars in the UFC except mcregor which again I find ridiculous.

I think the main thing is O’Malley is one of the most famous mma fighters in the world right now. So I’m confused how he’s not a star according to some.

Me and my friends are 40 year olds. And we’re fans of O’Malley. So your claim about only zoomers being fans is wrong.
