News Sean O’ Malley: Humbled

Did anyone really think O'Malley was losing the fight before his leg gave out? This wasn't exactly the equivalent of Silva's loss in the second go round with Weidman.
I bet there are a silly amount of Silva fans that say this win is legit, while still claiming the Weidman win is not

He's an annoying hipster. Hope he gets 'humbled' again in his next fight.

This guy thinks he's Colby?

Lol. So now, Colby is a reference as a PIMP ? Lol I didn't expect to see that lame gimmick working.

Here's a man who doesn't have to pay girls to hang with him :

Unless he works on those legs he is getting targeted and getting battered with leg kicks all day long.
He needs to beef up the legs to prevent those injuries, its the second time now and more to come if he takes the injury lightly. Let it be a lesson. If he really work on those legs he will be a threat to anyone. Let's see how Sean handles it.

It was temperary nerve damage that he suffered from the knee kick & so had he recognized that & took measures to stay safe a bit till it recovered, he wouldn't had made it worse by trying to go 100% on it while the nerve damage was still there. There's a great video out there of someone showing Mouse do that to Cejudo & you can see Cejudo's toes curl under just like O-Malley's did, but Cejudo recovered before making it worse. I'd say he's young & learned a great lesson, so he will be back & hopefully stronger than ever.

He learned a little something about manning up, staying calm, & leaving your pussy in the back room. I feel like he panicked when the kick made his foot stop working correctly, which led to him making it worse... & then basically gave up toward the end instead of maybe recognizing the problem & making it to the next round with crafty defense. Maybe his foot was too far gone at that point anyway though. No credit taken away from Cheetoe who clearly caused the problem, but O'Malley did make it a lot worse with that stumble. The kick itself would've recovered fairly quickly had O'Malley recognized what was happening. Live n Learn though... he's a smart kid & will be better for it.

One thing I've always wondered about that picture is why he's the only one naked and the girls are all fully clothed...kind of makes you think he was just wondering around his hotel drunk, with the UFC belt covering his cock and balls, and bumped into those women in the lobby...

It was evident to anyone with eyeballs that Vera was trying to read O'Malley and wanted to take this fight into the later rounds because O'malley is known to slow down.
You're a 2010 user, don't tell me you didn't see Vera's gameplan? He even stated it before and after the fight.

You're a nice person. Way more lenient and forgiving than a lot of sherdoggers, especially myself. Im not sold on cheap imitation Conrad.

The stories about him and his groupies are legendary

I agree, but does temporary nerve damage cause the kind of pain that Sean showed....couldn’t he just be helped out and not require a stretcher? Or did Sean cause more damage because of his reaction?

If he muscles up imo he cant stay at this weightclass. Could be whats keeping him from doing it. He wont have that much reach advantage at a higher weight class.

He wasn’t losing but he showed a lack of composure and panicked when Vera was putting the pressure on him. I think more composed and experience fighter would’ve done a better job of hiding the injury and overcoming adversity. This fight exposed Sean’s lack of grit

Chito Vera didn't do fucking anything. The way people were talking this guy up I thought he was a killer but Sean controlled the fight easily until the injury. He even pressured Vera offensively toward the cage on one leg before he inevitably collapsed and gifted Chito a win.

You run that fight back and O'malley starches this idiot IF HE LEARNS HIS LESSON, which I hope he does.

If there's a flaw to Sean's style it's his PASSIVITY. He waits too much while relying too heavily on neutral feints to create openings; this invites pressure from his opponents once they read his feints and realize he's not going to attack. If he wants to improve he needs to be able to feint, and draw openings while also ATTACKING like Adesanya and Conor can do.

This is what's missing from his striking game a more robust offense and forward pressure. He's got to mix intelligent attack along with his feints to draw out openings, not just endless feints and retreating.

Not a fan of Sean but "lack of grit"? Didn't he fought SuckHamThot with one leg and won?

I thought I covered that in my response, but to be clear, yes, I see that's it's very obvious he made it worse when he tried to keep fighting like normal before it had recovered... & when he put all his weight on it, he is the one who caused the major damage. You can see this in the video. Right after the kick, O'Malley switched stances & you can see the toes curl under, & then he adjusted, but he fucked up & didn't recognize the issue was a dier as it was.

Then we see him switch stances again before the nerves were completely recovered & that's when the toes curled under again, but this time he was putting weight on it & expecting balance just to get some torn ligaments... & that's what caused the foot to give out & for all that pain he was in.

Nothing taken from Cheetoe though... the kick made his leg go knumb for a moment & that caused O'Malley to hurt himself... but the initial kick wasn't fight ending in itself. Had O'Malley recognized what was happening, he would've went defensive for a moment... until he could shake it out & then he would've been alright.

So lesson learned for him. I'm sure he's going be doing some face plants about how he handled it & basically hurt himself, whenever his post fight orgy'z are over & he gets around to watching tape.

check out this video. Watch the whole thing for the full story that shows O'Malley's toes curl under right after the kick... & then again when he put his weight on it. Same thing happened to Cejudo... except that Cejudo just went on to shake it off & win.

Well thank you bud... I appreciate that.

I'd retort this immediate knee jerk reaction though as "very unforgiving" & not a really fair assessment due to the fact that it was such a quirky & weird injury that caused him to lose. It's like you're saying I'm on the extreme of forgiveness, but lets not leave the opposite extreme out of the discussion either. It was a quirky & odd thing that lost him the fight. Before that he was knocking out the lesser competition, so are we just going to assume that it was all hype & he can't hold his own against higher level competition off of a quirky injury? I would counter your pov & say that too is excessive.

So I acknowledge the lesser competition, we've seen lots of people look like world beaterz until they get into the deep end... I just don't think anything was proved this weekend against O'Malley's ability to hang with the tops of the division off of that fight. I think the discussion is in need of more data. (ie... more fights against top competition.)

See my last post in this thread for a nice breakdown.
