Se7en (1995) movie discussion

There's an equally great movie that came out arond the same time - Heat with Pacino and De Niro.
couple of interesting things about heat, the bank shoutout was choreographed by andy mcnabb, theres no music in that scene, and its used as a training aid by law enforcement.

Loved Se7en and Heat, I worked in a movie theatre when they came out and I got to watch them over and over.

Interesting.

there's also an interesting fact about the brazilian masterpiece "City Of God" from 2002 - there's a girl in the movie playing a wife. She's definitely pretty, most people would guess her age around 18 years old, and her husband in the movie is probably in his mid-late 40s ...there's even a brief sex scene involving her.

Now here's the fun fact: When you look her up on IMDB, you'll see that she was born in 1990 ...so if the movie came out in 2002, you do the math.

That's the thing with brazilian women ...a lot of them look like grown women at the age of 12-13 already. So be careful in case you go over there someday.

Great movie but I still can't put it above Fight Club.

I used to like Fight Club, but after all it's an overrated flick.

ewww! thats wrong.

Brad Pitt wakes up from a nightmare, it's Christmas morning and he's screaming "What's in the BOOOXXXX??!!"

lol ...he couldn't have known though that his wife was pregnant. Which is revealed to him by John Doe.

edit: oh ok, got you, you mean the real Brad Pitt ...lol.

You got what you deserved...

HE'S ALIVE! HE'S ALIVE! THE COCKSUCKERS ALIVE!

Sorry to be the guy but I must.

I love this movie, I own it and watched it many times.

The big flaw with this movie is that John Doe put so much time and effort into everything right, like he had a guy tied to a bed for a whole year barely keeping him alive and then in his grand master plan he just goes ohh i'll opportunistically kill this cops wife and do all that, surely a killer that meticulous wouldn't just change his whole plan or whatever in the space of a few days

Sloth and the notebooks make Doe seem more like a planner than I think he ultimately was; none of the others were on that same level. I think the movie's about that paranoia inside a busy town, that anyone could pull this off. Or maybe just Andrew Kevin Walker.

Top 5 fav movie of all time for me. I still remember when I watched it for the first time. It freaked me the fuck out. My gf had never seen it until last year; it was quite fun watching it with her.

Pretty good movie.

When the dude on the bed wakes up - that was freaky.

Yeah, loved it.

Bought the special edition on DVD, tho who the fuck knows where I put it.

Probably in box ;o)

That was a scary movie because it had that nasty lookin hag paltrow in it Im glad she died. I cant believe Brad married that thing he did say she sucked though.

It is a great film, a masterpiece, but some of the content is to brutal and real for me to enjoy. Trainspotting is another, so good yet so brutal.

Great ageless picture.

Brad Pitt's character believed the photographer to be John Doe. We don't know if he really was.
But they found the photos in John Doe's appartment and figured the photographer was John Doe.

Weren't they supposed to play Pitt's character? Because Freeman's character is about to retire, it's his last week of work. I think Denzel would've done a terrific job playing Pitt's character, probably even slightly better than Pitt ........although I like it the way it is.

Will Smith on the other hand is an absolute shit actor. Would've probably done his typical "I'm too cool fo yo ass" nonsense, instead of actually BE cool like Brad Pitt, who is superior to Will Smith in every aspect anyway.

I thought it was one of the rare times Pitt nailed it performance wise.
