Law Scalia Died today

Well you expressed your desire and pleasure watching someone die because they disagree with your political stance. That's pretty pathological. Conveniently, it fits in well with your overall persuasion I've seen on here to organize society by way of trampling individual rights.
Not when you look at it from a Human Rights paradigm... At the risk of a false equivalency fallacy, were you sad when any of the other notorious monsters of this world that had a penchant for denying Human Rights to people based on their own brand of religion died? Probably not. The only difference here is that Scallia was pedestrian about it. He was commplicite in some pretty serious Human Rights violations and in an attempt to set up a Theocracy in this Country that sought to oppress minorities. Not only am I glad he passed away, I hope he questioned the beliefs that made him such a monster right before he died and had to live with that terror, just like perhaps the millions of same sex couples who werent legitimized by his batshit crazy religion were forced to live through at the end of their partners lives, not having rights, a say in their wellness or a stake in their will.

What's worse is he's allegedly commissioned in the armed forces. With his pathology, I'm sure he'll rise to the top of the CoC, but thank god he's not a soldier or marine, and won't be sending our boys into direct combat engagements so he can pad his own resume. Going from metal coffin to metal coffin on the sea is the right place for that guy.
Lol, I don't think he's that bad. He just likes being angry and thinking himself right but I wouldn't assume that would translate to him being some psychopath on the battlefield.

If it doesn't happen by the 4th of July (if I am not mistaken) it would break the record for longest time for appointing a new one. It's ridiculous to suggest waiting. Pure douchebaggery.

ed: I got my info from a stupid, nvmnd.

I think it's complete bullshit that conservatives are saying the next president should appoint the next justice. The people spoke loudly and clearly in 08/12 about who they wanted making those decisions, and if a conservative president were sitting they almost certainly wouldn't be saying this.
Then you can also say the people spoke loudly in 2014 when they handed the Senate to the Republicans. It goes both ways.

His entire presidency has been the GOP obstructing every move now matter what the cost to the country.

It's sad how many people on the left are celebrating this while so many people on the right already have some conspiracy about his death.

Ok. I'm open for reading your case that he deserves a pleasure seeking audience as he passed. Is it just his view on same sex marriages? If so the case can be made that holy matrimony is explicit in its view that only a man and woman should be wed. The fact that the state went and dipped its hands in the issue to exclude homosexual relationships from the contract is something else in my opinion.

CNN had someone check into it and 17 justices were confirmed in election years.

Bukowski is still mad about the better team winning the Super Bowl last year.

He died peacefully in his sleep. belief in our Constitution to another generation of jurists. met Scalia on several occasions and he stridently held the beliefs he held. His greatest legacy will be to have passed that

Well that's going to happen for another 8 years so I'm kind of getting used to it. I edited my post because I ran with bad info, I'm not right about that. But it's still ridiculous to try to block a new appointment in the next 11 months.

Yeah I think you're probably right, actually. He doesn't have anywhere near the same inclination for dishonest debate like JVS has. He's been pretty straight from what I've seen, albeit "intense" as you mentioned.

You're about to make me start quoting Jack Donnelly on the subject of Human Rights... You clearly have zero idea about what you're talking about. And no, it wasn't just on same sex marriages, though that is a huge part of my distaste for the late justice. Scallia having the power he did over other people's lives based on his dogma is a truly terrifying concept. He did a lot of bad in this world. Now he's dead. I wouldn't dance on his grave or anything, but I'm not going to pretend we're not all better off for it.

Bukowski is a perfect example of what I said in the other thread about lefties actually celebrating his death.

Cruz says we owe it to him to not have Obama replace him. I thought this was a man of the constitution?

Of the living retired judges only 1 served less than 20 years (19 years) and age becomes a pressing issue when picking judges due to that fact, nobody is going to appoint a 40 years old judge that may end up serving 50 years.

Well Obama doesn't exactly have a track record of nominating people in the middle or apolitical for the SCotUS.
