SBBC Vol 1 - Corona is a can

Iirc years ago Hollywood Nicky wanted a shoop of jar jar bink wearing a kobe jersey...so GSPOAB busted out a shoop of Kobe simply wearing the wraparound shades of the black dude from star trek. I love simple shoops and that shit floored me laughing lol

There is a nice hike on the west side of campus to the radio telescope.

It's called "Walking the Dish" btw. Did it many times during the period of our raids on Stanford Stadium to steal their goalposts the night before the Big Game with CAL.
Fond memories for sure. LIved in PA for several years before moving to Berserkely.
I wouldn't exactly call San Jose the 'desert' btw.
The entire Bay Area is experiencing a coastal cool down trend at the moment.
Typically arrives first week of July, but a bit early this year.

It sure as fuck gets more desert-like as you get to Campbell compared to SF or on the west side of Skyline.

Re: the dish

I did not realize that R. N. Bracewell was one of the main astronomers to use that dish. He wrote the book on the Fourier transform.

If you've ever had a CT scan you can thank Bracewell. He collected radio emissions from the sun for a year and reconstructed a cross section of the sun in 1956.

You're thinking of Morgan Hill where it gets hotter. Campbell is still pretty much SJ, urban area, inland so not the coastal micro climate that other areas get.
But once you past that area toward Santa Cruz or my home track Laguna Seca in Monterrey, it can get freaking cold, foggy and nasty sometimes.
But still, Cali is an awesome place to live and fuck around.

There was a place years ago on The Alameda de las Pulgas, yes avenue of the fleas, called The Dutch Goose.
Best damn burgers and beer garden anywhere. Another great place to scope out naive Stanford coeds was The Oasis burger place on El Camino. Awesome food, huge beer menu.
And out in Portola Valley, on the way to the beach at Pescadero and passing the real life Alice's Restaurant in La Honda was a killer place called The Alpine Inn. Great setting, great food.
I miss those times. But at least I can remember them......for now!

Alpine inn was still around in the 2000s. You were there long before me. My spots were O-sushi house and The Straits, an Indonesian place. I lived off El Camino at Ventura. The two spots that I would hit up were El Grullenese, a taqueria and L&L Hawaiian BBQ

"Long before me" = hella old. lol but I'll own it.
yea, simpler times. we would sneak into the old wooden Stanford stadium at night, with one ancient security guard asleep in his kiosk, and take their goal posts before the game.
take em back to CAL as a trophy.
they got us back though by stealing the Oskie statue one year.
bastards!

Meant to ask, where else did you end up going and doing?
Did a shit load. Went to Newport Beach for like half a day which worked out nice because it was the one sunny day of the trip. Dug it there. Good food, good drinks, hotties everywhere. Went to a Cangels game after. They won and got to see Ohtani and Trout with hits which was cool. Disney and California Adventure was a full day, watched some of the fireworks show. Spent time in LA, Hollywood Blvd, Sunset, went to West Hollywood because my mom is obsessed with that Vanderpump show and wanted to go to Tom Tom’s. Apparently lots of gay dudes in that area (NTTAWWT). Universal was another full day. Didn’t realize how much Mexicans love that place. Drove a few hundred miles getting around, we were there for five days.

Didn’t get any ocean time because it was still chilly and breezy af and didn’t get to hit as many breweries as I wanted. Did go to Ballast too though since it was near the hotel.

nice.. check out San Diegoat next time you hit up cali

I remember visiting San Francisco when I was 12, that’s when I knew California was the GOAT state. You couldn’t complain about the weather at all, you got to enjoy the scenery more whilst walking. Food was great (I was a fat ass kid back then). My only regret was that I couldn’t enjoy Chinatown more, my taste in food wasn’t adequate at the time. I’d go back in a heartbeat, the dream is to live in Cali in the future.
