A good analogy that I heard was that Amazon was $80/share in 1999 and $10 in 2001. What the stock did during that time due to speculation and volatility was irrelevant. What mattered was that Amazon was disrupting the 100+ yr old model for retail.

Investing long-term in bitcoin is investing in bitcoin's long-term viability as an actual currency functioning as a store of value and medium of exchange
