Yeah my dad used to drive a Lexus for years. He even gave it to my brother after like 8 years of driving it and my brother got through college and his first couple years on his own in it. I would consider it. I'm just so happy with my Honda I kind of want to reward them, lol. My dad drives an Infiniti now and says it's just as good, except that when it does need repairs (rare) it's more of a pain than the Lexus was.

i understand the appeal
i drove the hooptiest 89 VW Golf in college, but my grandparents had an Infiniti at the time. I'd love when they need chores/errands done, b/c i'd offer b/c they'd always ask me to use their car (you know, for safety!).

then i worked at ERAC and drove most non superluxury cars at one pt or another.

I wish we rented, but my wife bought our house before we got together. I think she was trying to prove to herself that she was an adult or something. Personally, I prefer the flexibility of being able to up and move whenever. Plus not being responsible for all these old ass pipes, fixtures, water heaters, furnace, etc. I've had to replace would be nice. Lol. Since I'm not worried about the equity or having assets, I see no advantage to owning.

it's why i haven't bought. It's either new, more reliable but way overpriced for here houses..

or older, iffy trustworthiness and upkeep/fixture issues for a way cheaper price.

there's no middle ground.
