The Gracies were about the only legit fights he had and he won most of those because those men were primitive, pure grapplers in MMA at that point.

Next time you watch one of his big wins, go ahead and watch the other fights of the opponent he beat and you will see how odd and uncharacteristically they behaved and "fought" against Saku. The ones who fought like always like Wand, Manhoef, Arona etc. absolutely brutalized him, almost killed him in the ring. Maybe then it will start clicking in your brain.

Is Garcia really a great example? Even without the down, it was a close fight. If Garcia was clearly better than Romero, then an early down wouldn't make the difference.

I dunno Ryan handily won the first round, then he got caught and knocked down in the second and fought really tentative afterwards. The knockdown cost him the fight imo

Vitor didn't look weird to you butt flopping all fight never using his blitz? Randleman gently rolling along with him on the ground? Shamrock going down like a pro wrestler against pillow fisted Sak? Mirko was taking it easy on him the whole fight, then one punch he threw too hard on the ground and Sakuraba's face was destroyed and fight was over. The Russian guy who was about to beat him untill the officials pulled some BS that saved Saku? The BS surrounding Mezger.

Before you ask for proof, Rampage already admitted he was approached backstage for a fix against Saku and he's one of the biggest Pride FC defenders in the world.

I'm sorry I ruined the perception and you never look at him the same way again but I had to do it.

What are normal circumstances to you? Giant pillows that would have covered up his head more? The ref giving him a standing 8 count instead of letting Sam GNP his lights out?

Sounds like normal circumstances are akin to going further and further away from a real fight.

It's crazy that people are in here calling fixed fight knowing Spong's brutal injury history and massive inactivity rust. This isn't 2013, time to wake up. His one fight in the last 11 years was a TKO loss as well. Alvey has the UFC loss streak, yes, but he has remained healthy and active in combat sports and before his loss streak he was on a 7-2 run in the big leagues.

Sam is a better real fighter than Spong under any circumstances. Any version of Sam beats any version of Spong.
