Saki didnt make the impact Dana expected

Saki would have Ngannou shooting for takedowns. He knows how to deal with guys with power

He would piece Ngannou the fuck up on the feet

Ngannou has a better chance of submitting him, although I’ll be the first to admit he has the power to KO anyone and is scary as fuck when he’s fresh
I wasn't so impressed with Saki in MMA tho......sure, he looked great for the first two minutes, had decent take down defense, but he was gettin' pieced up by a bum near the end of the round and lost momentum until he scored the KO. In kickboxing, yes, he is unbelievable, but those striking skills do not fully translate. Just think about Cro Cop getting KO'd by Randleman.

Like most ppl are pointing out, the hype seems reasonable but he's out on injury.

He has had 1 fight in UFC and got a first round knockout, he got injured sadly but with more fights he will get a title shot soon because its LHW and they badly need anyone. Wouldn't surprise me if he gets 2 more wins that he will get a title shot, there is no one else for Cormier to fight unless they just rehash needless rematches.

I wonder if they do a show in Istanbul in 2019. That could be a smart move.

Wasn't that KO with Cro Cop on his back getting spanked with GnP though?

He was a 34 year old kickboxer with an 0-1 MMA record before his UFC debut. Give him some time to grow and learn.

God, Cormier would annihilate him. But if he faces anyone decent and looks like he did in that first fight he won't get near a title shot.

Maybe in boxing gloves that scenario would be likely but definitely not in mma. Ngannou may knock saki out the ring mortal kombat style.

In the begining everyone was excited to see him in octogan but after the first fight i didnt see anyone talking about him or looking for his next fight. Should he stayed in kickboxing ring where he was a superstar?
He hadn't fought in Kickboxing for two years before the UFC.

Possible for sure. He’d better do it quick though. He’s got about half a round, then Saki takes over

I was stoked for the Saki / Rountree fight.

Honestly maybe not even then, maybe a fight with someone like Volkan and a title shot if he wins.
You're right, it wouldn't surprise me at all. Its sad its got to this but if you are signed to UFC and you are a LHW then you're only a few wins away from a title shot.

Cormier would jump all over that match-up too because he wouldn't think Saki's TDD will be anywhere near good enough for him. Even though his striking is excellent.

It's better to burn out than fade away. Going down in a blaze of glory is befitting for such a legendary striker.
Can you imagine the hype train?

HE IS A FIGHTER FROM CAMEROON, WORKED IN THE SAND MINES!!! HE WENT TO FRANCE SEEKING FOR A BETTER LIFE. HE WAS HOMELESS!!!! FIVE YEARS LATER, THROUGH SHEER ATHLETICISM, EXPLOSIVENESS AND TALENT HE KNOCKED OUT ONE OF THE BEST K1 FIGHTERS OF ALL TIME ON SAKI AND A K1 CHAMPION ON OVEREEM. I MEAN, HE IS JUST ON ANOTHER LEVEL. HE DOESN'T EVEN LOOK HUMAN. ONE IN A MILLION ATHLETE!!!!

Although honestly I do tend to think having more refined striking tends to make takedown defence easier(ala Mirko) to pickup because your not rushing around off balance all the time. I suspect Saki's cross training potentially goes back much further than many believe as well to his Glory days when theer was always talk of the MMA and K-1 guys doing some cross training with each other.

I'd prefer Gus. Saki would get killed on the first

No different than Francis. Essentially they are each good for half a round.

Did you watch Saki's UFC debut, he was dead tired within 2 minutes. He still won cause the guy he was fighting was a low tier fighter they brought in to lose

Yeah, saki is no joke. Putting hands on ubereem with a broken arm takes a special guy.

I thought he made a pretty big splash...This forum blew up after his debut. Where were you TS? He's out with an injury, or otherwise not fighting so not getting talked about too much right now...
