Usually need 10 years of agent experience before qualifying for a brokers license. At least I did…
Bless your jurisdiction for its high standards. Where I am from it is two years.
I said this in response to someone else's post. Maybe even with my low expectations of him (as a fighter), I am still being swayed by his astronomical hype. Maybe he was only good at martial arts stunts and is otherwise just a regular person.
As a regular person, good on him. As an exceptional person- he should have gotten licensed earlier, while he was till fighting but looking for a way out, and come out as a broker, with his own brand.
My expectation of a person of that stature is that they have the natural acumen and work capacity to command an small team and rise meteorically. That's more a reflection of my high expectations for individuals who are at the top of their respective fields. I mean... hell, look at Rampage, the man is a savage (in the bad way), yet he managed to somehow make a real go at podcasting, gym management, and professional athlete development. Yeah, he partnered with people of means- but it's his name and seemingly his show to run. Now, Rampage was a higher level professional fighter than Sage... but a lower level everything else, so I think it balances out!
You know.... your comment really drives home that I reacted rashly. I stand by my general comment- disappointment- but you make a good point. 10 years is a long time (for licensing in your jurisdiction), and that's how long it takes to really make progress. Things do take time. Maybe Sage runs a huge brokerage and runs a development company by the time he's Rampage aged. I hope so.
