Sad Day When Jones Retires

100%, glad we were there to witness greatness, while it happened, live, in the moment, where true PRIDE, bragging rights, greatness was all on the line.

Respect to the greatest HW to ever do it in combat mixed martial arts. *one tear rolling down the side of the face out of respect

When everyone got in the cage with him after the fight I had to fight that tear sir.
I was with my homeboy and he didn't watch PRIDE back then so he wouldn't understand lol.

Worth every late night, and every moment glued to the tv for sure.

Paper champ, always has been. Best old fighters and lost vs reyes. Duck Rumble, ducked Nganou. His wins vs DC are tainted since he was roided to the gills.

same man, i had to keep it together. lol. that was one of the coolest things that scott coker was able to do, and he will forever have my respect as a MMA fan for that send off. the best send off ever, for a MMA fighter, and it was for Fedor. seeing all of those legends, pay their respect, it says everything about Fedor, and his legacy, what he was able to accomplish. the most realest send off ever done, ever will be done. i went on a fedor memorabilia buying spree after that. got some legit shirts and a signed pride glove. i think i listened to his walk out song non stop for months after that. still in my workout music rotation. cannot believe its all over now.

You know those guys have a ton of reverence for Fedor, and it really was the best send off that I have ever seen for any fighter.
Coker for all his flaws really got that one right sir.

The 3 best days in UFC history, imo. In no particular order.

When Dana, Conor, and Jones all retire and fuck off from the UFC.

100%. what a moment. glad we were able to watch that on CBS for free, in HD. what an awesome send off. *two tears down the face out of respect

All feels like a blur, went from being super active to fighting once a year and disappearing a bunch inbetween.

He will retire.
He won't want any part of Pavlovich I guarantee.

i was most saddest win fedor retired. as more time goes on, what the fighters did, who was there to actually witness it, the legacy, all of it fades into obscurity. when jones retires, it wont have as big of an impact. few people were there to watch the rise, few will still be here. watching fedor retire was like MMA basically dying a little bit for me.
It wasn't so much him retiring, it was seeing him get the stuffing beaten out of him repeatedly before retiring that was sad.

yes, this was an added element to the retirement IMO. seeing the prefight, backstage video on him, doing those slow sprints back and forth, trying to pump himself up, i knew it wasn't going to be a great showing. and then seeing that final walk out, hearing that epic serbia russian music, head down, arena dark, final light shining from up above. it was like watching an old god walk to his execution. just nothing of anything remotely resembling a good feeling. and then the ensuing fight, hard to watch. he did have his moment though, where he said fuck it, and he put everything into that final exchange, the final classic over hand right from fedor, you could tell, that was it, that was all that was left in him. and it missed wildly, bader capitalizing, before the fight was finally stopped. relief the expression on fedors face. as well as the fans. a sad night, truly. but the respect, the honor, the pride, all of that never fades for those who were there to witness it.

He’s the undisputed GOAT and I don’t mind him getting his flowers while he’s here. People will celebrate his achievements for many years to come and he will undoubtedly be missed (except for a sect of cesspool sherdoggers). People these days are to quick to hate the man has done what nobody else in MMA history has been able to accomplish.

Greatest I've ever seen.
