Ryan Hall's NEW DVD'S *Yep,

The triangle set is boss. Even if you never intend to throw up a triangle in your life the concepts will make your Jiu Jitsu so much better.

Don't be scared to order homie. Just ordered the Passing and Arm triangle DVD for 148.93 USD including shipping to Europe, a steal!

Obviously I can't say about the ones that aren't out but the only ones that AREN'T beginner friendly are deep half and 50/50. Especially deep half, that one gets really technical.

The first 20 minutes of shrimping, hip shovel, and fundamental movement instruction is probably the best thing a beginner could watch

I'm scared homie. I'll also be reporting your theft to interpol.

Put me down for the guard passing, add it to my arm triangle and deep half sets. Now to try to figure out how to justify getting the back one before the sale is done.

If people had to choose between back or triangle- which one would you go with? I do throw lots of triangles, and also try to spend time taking the back.

Thanks

Theft is peanuts to what interpol got on me man.

I actually just got a msg back from Ryan on Facebook that there was no current plans to release his stuff on iphone/android, but that if there was interest for it he could try to get the people handling his stuff to do it..

Thanks for the recommendations guys. I ended up getting the guard passing and the triangle set. I am tall and people tell me I should be getting more triangles so hopefully this will help.

Dude needs to get with the times. I'm honestly shocked that there are still so many people who don't see how the monetary benefits of distributing digitally far outweigh the added hassle/cost of getting someone to code that shit. I've got at least three instructionals on my phone that I would not have bothered to buy had I been forced to order on on DVD. Digital distribution also makes it cheaper for people like myself who have to pay customs for international purchases, further enticing a purchase.

Ain't nobody got time for physical media.

Agree 100 percent. I've picked up 6 different "apps" that I would not have considered ordering on a DVD. Not to mention the ease of use if you wanna review something before(/at) training.

I don't like this idea. I don't know own, an iPod, tablet or smartphone, nor do I use iTunes. I would much rather have a DVD.

Putting together an online website is a TON of work, plus if people get mad at Galvao's site for infrequent updating I can't imagine they'd be happy with Ryan's since he spends Months at a time gone training MMA.

If you want his stuff on your phone just by the DVDs and rip them on your computer and transfer them to your phone.

Not talking about websites in this case. Just saying that you can convert your already produced/in production DVDs into apps for iOS and Android (Apple products being much easier due to standardization of course). Once initial bugs are fixed you don't have to do all that much other than update for every major system upgrade that fucks shit up.

I am well aware of the fact that I can rip DVDs and convert into files for my iPhone. But that's not the point. If I have instructionals readily available only a couple of clicks away, then the threshold for purchase is significantly lowered than if I have to order it from a website and wait a week (not to mention pay $20 for transportation).. Especially since it is easy to portion your instructionals into smaller, cheaper apps (one great example being Caio's Modern Jiu Jitsu). Never underestimate how much convenience influences purchases.

If you ain't catering to lazy fucks, you ain't maximizing your stack of bucks.

Bought both plus the back attacks - not an inverted player but I'm willing to learn.

could not resist with 50% off discount. x-mas present to myself.

I have his deep half and 50/50 dvds - exciting.

I think it's a no brainer and have written the MGinAction site, but I think they should incorporate Ryan. They already have everything set up, Ryan is now affiliated with Marcelo, and they could probably very easily set up a camera at 50/50 and edit the video in New York (not sure if Josh does all of that or how big their operation is). I say this is a no brainer because it seems across the board people love the way Ryan teaches. Online sites are popping up more and more now, which spells a lot of competition for Marcelo (there's even a thread on here about switching to other sites). Having Marcelo, a teacher like Paul Schreiner (who is excellent), and adding Ryan would probably increase their membership a lot.

Also, with Ryan training at Tri-Star and pursuing MMA it's not inconceivable they could add or consider adding an MMA training portion, bjj for mma, or something similar. I would predict in the future people are going to start combining themselves to gain more market share. Most people would probably want to learn from two, three, or more top level guys rather than one.

Josh, if you're reading this, considering adding Ryan.

If Ryan Hall became a regular contributor, MG in Action would be the first online site that I would be willing to pay for.

Jus sayin

I ordered the passing DVD and the first thing Imma do is get the files on my computer because my laptop DVD drive catches fire if I put anything in it.
